I was just wondering... I have a nice Kingstone Data Traveler 2Gb pendrive... Can I install the game on it and make my Doomsday portable... will there be any registry problems... will simple file copying be enough? I am going to use this pendrive trick to play on my dad's company notebook... I want the game to leave no marks in the system, so his company administrator will not know that such a game was launched. pls advice how to do it...

the traces are my main concern... i dont want to get him in trouble for letting me do that... for that reason i was thinking of making a fully bootable windows xp on this pendrive, with the game installed on it, but that is a much bigger cookie than simple copy - paste game files... any simpler solution... can anyone confirm the "traces' in the system registry?

The only way the OS on the pendrive trick is going to work is if the laptop will boot using a USB drive.

In order to set this you have to change the bios to allow that.

A decent corporate Network guy will lock down the bios with a password

My suggestion... dont do it. People have been fired for much less than that.

Also if you run anything from the pendrive it will show up in the event log of the OS.... and that event log is not modifiable unless you are an admin on the machine.... which i am assuming that your dad is not.

Again -- dont do it. Find another way to play the game..... HOI2 runs on almost anything ....

thanks coreymas... thats exactly the situation, i cannot access bios thus i cant set usb as a boot device... and thanks for the confirmation on that OS event log...
