Making Peace and Annexing

Just bought the game, and trying the Grand Campaign as England.

Had a first successful war against Scotland, and aquired the Grampians province.

I am now in the second war with Scotland, and control Lothian, Highlands and Strathclyde, with a small army in each. There is only one small Scotish army left, running south as fast as it can, pursued by a much larger English army.

I have saved the game at this point.

The game will not let me annex Scotland, presumably because they have aquired a province somewhere that I have not located.

If I "Offer peace", I get shown 6 stars, so demand 2 provinces, plus 250 ducats. Scotland accepts, but as soon as the game restarts I find that Scotland has reatained control of the provinces, and I have to leave them, and I receive none of the money.

If I wait for Scotland to sue for peace, they offer me Strathclyde and Highlands. I accept, game restarts, and again, Scotland retains control of both provinces, and again I have to leave them.

well two things,

1. when you offer peace and you want provinces, you actually have to click on them. you'll see that they will populate another dialogue box.

2. as for the money, if you ask 250d, the computer will only give you what it has (in your case 0d). The trick is to make peace early in January.

As for the fact that Scotland doesn't let you annex it, you may be on the right track with the colony or province that you cannot see, or they are in an alliace with someone and are hoping that nation will rescue them. Conclude a seperate peace with their allies and see Scotland squirm.
