hi,

I don't know how most of you feel about this, but to me, once you know the very heart of the pops mechanism (income, taxation and immigration) every game turns out the same insanely populated megablob. So I thought it might be interesting to start a post about ways to change one's game experience.

Of course, the obvious answer is 'take another nation', but they, let's be honest: as an unciv OPM, ricky is either exploitive or frustrating. If you truly want to enjoy the whole run, a decent country is a must.

In fact, I tried various things, like 'no immigration', 'war only', 'no-war' and countless other games; but to my own surprise, the funniest game I had was one I allowed myself no pause (besides save & exit). Having the date automatically advancing feels like a sprint, ensures complete immersion, and naturally limits micro-management, since you don't have time for this. I definitely recommend it.

How about you ? What are your challenges ?

Well do you happen to find this game that easy on veryhard/very hard ? (AI and difficulty)

I don't count anymore the number of games I lost on that level because the AI attack me very quickly after a few annexions :D

If you did, then 1) I am definitely not good at that game 2) well you have one important possibility : multiplayer.

I may be wrong but I don't think there is a way to hardened easily this game. Maybe trying to edit the AI files if you know enough on it ?

I'd recommend you lowly populated countries. They are interesting, as you cannot just throw your armies against something. Argentina is most interesting in VIP.
