hi,
I don't know how most of you feel about this, but to me, once you know the very heart of the pops mechanism (income, taxation and immigration) every game turns out the same insanely populated megablob. So I thought it might be interesting to start a post about ways to change one's game experience.
Of course, the obvious answer is 'take another nation', but they, let's be honest: as an unciv OPM, ricky is either exploitive or frustrating. If you truly want to enjoy the whole run, a decent country is a must.
In fact, I tried various things, like 'no immigration', 'war only', 'no-war' and countless other games; but to my own surprise, the funniest game I had was one I allowed myself no pause (besides save & exit). Having the date automatically advancing feels like a sprint, ensures complete immersion, and naturally limits micro-management, since you don't have time for this. I definitely recommend it.
How about you ? What are your challenges ?
