basically the problem is that america as a superpower is incredibly worthless. i am lucky to keep a steady number of 20 manpower while building my fleets for killing japan.

and as for building any more units, out of the question.

i have no idea how many divisions america had during ww2 at its start, or how many they had at pearl harbor's start. but the manpower issue is totally effed.

how am i supposed to wage war against japan and god forbid germany with a total of 20 divisions?!?!? you CANT!

i hope that when titanium is downloaded that issue is fixed, maybe give me a bonus 500 income at start and a decent population growth.

The USA had roughly 90 divisions of troops. I agree, it is almost impossible to replicate historical numbers as USA.

I am currently losing a war of attrition against japan as the US.....2:1 carrier kill loss ratio, but the JAP AI just keep building more, I swear I've sunk the Yamato 5 times already:wacko:

You took the "Furious Japanese AI" option I suppose? Do you read the message for that option (" I wan't my a.. to be kicked")?

I cannot recall any, unless you become PA or fascist. IIRC they have a +10% mp minister. Vanilla anyway.

I've finally gained naval superiority, but the japanese have complete land domination, they have more troops than the Germans.

My only hope is to use my superior navy to contain the Axis forces to Eurasia/Africa while I work on the bomb....

My choice also. Since I lack the manpower to try multiple attacks simultaneously. The USA seriously needs more manpower.

I am using the final version...however i'm not talking about a manpower problem but about the event that deny to build up infantry, tanks and aircraft until the end of 1941...

You missed the event "absolute emergency" or something like that, which fires at the end of may 1941? This event unlocks all the production and tech restrictions for USA. Did you play historically?

ok it's my fault, i said "the end of 1941" but i meant when that event fires... I don't understand why I can't build infantry before that events... I mean.. what could i do if i want to anticipate that decision (roosvelt historical decision) to be prepared for war in a better way then the historical one? however this is only a little critic on the mod that seems to be really great ;)

I have the final version. My manpower growth is still less than 1.00/day. This is way too low. I would consider 1.00 an absolute minimum during war, especially with the crappy pre-war growth.

what i did was simply to give myself 500 manpower at gamestart instead of 100, and problem solved. i achieved 90 divisions by '44, and less than half of those (40) were used to bring down germany.

now thats more realistic. also, by '44 i barely had enough manpower to cover winter losses by attrition. thats what im talking about! i had to rely on my TAC's and FTR wings to kick germany's ass back to stone age.

so by 44 i had about 36 marine divisions built, 20 garrisons for the islands i kept taking, had retaken all of borneo area and islands, and was beginning attack on Okinawa, where i sent 16 strat bombers to bomb the living shit out of the poor japanese home islands. i had the strat bombers in england but they did so little damage at so high a cost that i sent em to japan instead.

my standing army had about 33 infantry divs, 9 armored divs (6 of them were shermans), 1 HQ, and france had been recaptured, but i suffered due to my lack of forces, and the germans, though outnumbered, always seemed to keep plugging the lines. by summer i had freed france and had rampaged through germany completely.

my airforce was massive, with 20 TAC wings, 16 NAV '43 models, 16 FTR wings, and 3 transport airplanes which i used to capture an undefended italian port with my single airborne '38 division, which captured the port of regio di calabra, took it, and then encircled and destroyed half the italian army along with a few german divs.

after i got an event which claimed italy was now allied to us, i left it to the brits, and took over a southern beach in france, and quickly encircled 20 divisions in Lyon and Marsellies before moving north.

all in all it was the most fun i ever had with a country in WIF, even more so than Germany.

now im gonna go play a diplomatic germany game to see how that goes.
