I'm playing as Nat China with CCIP and DAIM. It's December of 1940 and Germany never attacked the low countries despite subduing poland in less than 2 months. I did some save game editing and put germany at war with the low countries hoping that would solve things. It didn't. The germans just stayed on the border and didn't do anything. So I figured that germany must still be on an "attack Poland" AI file. So I went into the AI swithces and looked for the event code to swithc on the invasion of the low countries. I noticed something wierd here, though. The AI switch files were only 8 lines long. 8 really long lines that all the events but it was like the file had been typed and the person only pressing the "enter" key eight times. Is this normal? Anyway, I triggered "event 120504" and Germany didn't declare war on the Netherlands. Is this the right course of action? How do I fix my game?

You need to fire the event for GER not for yourself. The correct line is
"event 120504 GER"

Still not working

Thanks for your prompt reply but I couldn't get it to work. Typing event 120504 Ger, 120505 Ger, and 120506 Ger, did not cause Germany to declare war on the low countries. I decided to do save file editing and put everyone at war and fire the events again but the game went for three months without Germany launching a single attack. Is there a place in the save file I can look to see which ai file the Germans are using? Is there a way to switch the AI file from outside of the game? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know what went wrong in your game, but I guess it'll be too late and difficult to change it now.

When doing my own tweaks I've found that when editing DAIM files using Notepad, the formatting falls apart. It sounds like you ran into the same issue. I'd replace the file and use another program to edit it perhaps?

My game also had this problem with DAIM. I was playing Italy, and at first, the event never fired, so for months nothing happened. As Italy, I declared war, but again, Germany did nothing.

Fortunately, I had a May 1, 1940 save game. So, I uninstalled DAIM, went back to that, the event fired, and the invasion began. :)
