I'm italian and know history of my country.
That map remembers me only recent division of the state in local
administrative areas.
In EU II timeframe Italy wasn't a state, but many states
with same dignity.
In my opinion this EU map revision makes the game more complicated only.

Not only Italians know very well Italian history here in this forum, i think, from the posts I have been reading! ;)

So, what do you suggest to draw instead?

Do the designers look at physical borders for the map?

So some ideas:
- Valtellina and Ticino belongs to prov Lombardia (Duchy of Milan);
- Emilia indipendent prov politicaly to Milano;
- Istria area belongs to prov Friuli and no border in Trieste;
- Corse (name is Corsica) is italian (to Republic of Genova);
- Brescia has historically no matter there (better Mantua as EU II);
- prov Adige in Italy but politically to Austria;
- maybe prov Naples must be divided in 2 ones: the rich one to west and the poor one near Adriatic Sea.

Are You another italian player? :)
