THE SUMMER ISLES - TROPICAL EDITION

This map is based on the Lakeland map. Gone are the cold Winter months, instead The Summer Isles enjoy vibrant Sun all year round, with a light breeze flowing through the Palm tree rich paradise. With lots of beautiful Insta-Friendly views and Wildlife, The Summer Isles are sure to be the new tourist destination of choice.

THIS MAP IS FOR BEGINNERS OR PEOPLE THAT:

1: want sunshine all year round, no rain or snow.
2: want plenty of flat resource rich areas for easy construction.
3: don't have loads of time to throw at the game due to work or family commitments - all high flow infrastructure is in place, some collectors, decorations plus other time savers.
4: may struggle to build a naturally beautiful layout, no more single concrete characterless wastelands. This is a map that encourages you to follow a predefined path, suggestions on the map for key areas and service buildings with green space between. Follow or ignore, the choice is yours.

MAP STATS
Theme: European (You can change this)
Climate (Summer Only): 11c - 27c
Buildable area: 45%
Population: Up to 1.2m
Outside connections: Road, Rail, Shipping & Air
Fertile land: 196 km2
Wood: 717 kt
Oare: 62.6 kt
Oil: 41.5 kt

FORESTS
If you wish to add forests, the mixture is as follows:

High density: 100% Florida Palm, Coconut Palm & Royal Palm - 75% Chestnut, Hickory, Lindon, Oak & Pine - 50% Green Bush Wild 01, Green Bush Wild 02 & Flower Bush City 01.

For medium and low density flora I used: 50%/35%/20% and 30%/20%/10%.

MODS
I recommend you use the 529 Tile mod to get the best use of this map, and if you would prefer to relocate resources, grab the Extra Landscaping Tools mod. Some elements on my maps might require the Better Bulldozer mod if you wish to remove items that cannot be removed using the vanilla bulldozer tool. I also recommend grabbing the Anarchy mod, just in case you have any issues in game when working on some existing custom elements that may exist on a map.

SHOUT-OUTS
Thanks to Piccana and Mike Builds, I built 1 intersection (in part or full) from each YouTube channel, visit them, they have great content!

INFORMATION
If you encounter any issues with this map, please report them to me via this map on PDX Mods or the dedicated thread I have setup on the Paradox forum (search Maps by Darren3331 - dedicated link can be found on PDX Mods).

I hope you enjoy this map, if you do, please give it a thumbs up, it helps me know what style maps are preferred when planning future projects; thank you.

UPDATE V1.2

I have fixed the following:

1: Connected Pylons to the outside connection
2: Replaced all rail lines with normal Two Way tracks (not two, two way tracks!)
3: Fixed one custom intersection that had a two way road segment instead of a one way
4: Removed the river from Industry Area 1, instead I added earth in front of the Dam to stop the water seapage. This dam by the way was added as a potential Elecro-dam spot should you wish

Now onto new custom maps...

I'm going to guess you didn't get the beach properties DLC? That should fix in next patch, as I think they pulled it to be part of Vanilla; refunding those that got it separately and rest of us on ultimate edition get more packs for free; I should have mentioned this in the description, apologies.

hey, thanks a lot for this map. Anyway, do you have any idea why I have grey boxes intead of palm trees? Should I download something else?
Hi, unfortunately you need the Beach Properties DLC, however I don't think that DLC is available now because CO has removed it. It is going to be free in next patch I believe. For now only people who paid for the Ultimate Edition will see Palm Trees at the moment.

So this is a good mod, BUT there is an issue with your train tracks. There are tracks that are placed down where there are crossings and cause trains to get stuck, backing up MILES!

nevermind, seems yu addressed in last update.
Yep, apologies, there is an extra track option in the editor that doesn't exist in the main game, it ends with two way, so at a glance you think its the correct one; but it is for stations only. It took me like 20 mins to use the replace tool to undo that, but guessing you have done that already. Many map makers/editors have been caught out by this :D.

Hi! I absolutely love this map! Would you consider making a temperate/snow-possible version?
Hi, glad you like it. It is doable, however it isn't a 5 minute job as I would need to remove all Palms and one of the types of bush used for it to work in a 4 season map.

Due to climate settings being broken in the Map Editor since the last patch I wouldn't be able to do it just yet. For now I'm currently working on two fully custom maps, but I will come back to this map if you are still interested when they fix the climate settings.

PEAKS BAY - All maps: https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/authors/Darren3331

Welcome to Peaks Bay, with lush green pastures, stunning mountain peaks, reservoir, lakes and a stream, this is an idyllic location for those that want the option of escaping from the daily hustle and bustle of City life.

I have re-worked the map, it now features more buildable area, more resources, better starting square junction, more water related eye candy, made adjustments to some of the road infrastructure and some additional decorating; hope you like. You also have access to outside power, water and sewage lines in the starting area for your importing or exporting pleasure.

MAP STATS
Default theme: European (You can change this)
Climate (4 Seasons): -13c - 24c
Buildable area: 33%
Population: Up to 700k
Outside connections: Road, Rail, Shipping & Air
Fertile land: 196 km2
Wood: 747 kt
Oare: 63.5 kt
Oil: 71 kt

FORESTS
If you wish to add forests, the mixture is as follows:

High density: 100% Spruce (2x passes) & Pine - 75% Chestnut & Oak - 50% Green Bush Wild 01 & Green Bush Wild 02.

For medium and low density flora simply set brush to 20%, then right click areas you wish to thin out.

The map is great.
Places are specially prepared and marked for future plans. (Especially the road to the airport.) Additionally, there are a lot of roads. I recommend.
Glad you like, I will be doing a 2nd version of The Summer Isles soon - "All Seasons Edition" with flora to match plus many tweaks, changes and additions.
