Massive lag in prison with new PC

Hi,

I love this game. I used to play it on my older but still good PC with minimal issues. Now with my new computer, which is very spec'd out, my current game is lagging like crazy. The worst part is that I don't even have any prisoners inside yet as I was just building the framework first.

My PC's specs are:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-7900X CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3312 Mhz, 10 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)
System Model Predator PO9-900
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16.0 GB

As you can see, I really should have no problems at all running this game.

I've tried:
- No mods
- Setting Priority to High
- Disabling Steam Community
- No other programs in the background

Nothing has worked.

Please help me get this sorted as I'm growing increasingly frustrated!!

Did you buy a bunch of extra land ? I've seen some reports that causes this.

Does this happen on any new prison you start?

Actually I've only started the one game, so I'll go back and check if any of my older games lag.

And yes, I bought extra land three times (north, south, and west).

Forgive me if I sound noob, but given that my computer is fairly powerful coupled with the fact that this game isn't exactly a high-def game, shouldn't it be able to handle a few extra land purchases? Like I have no problems with lag playing VR games, or something like the SIms with all the expansion packs whilst still playing a movie or music in the background...I just don't understand.

Hello.
I have the exact same problem. Lag after a few minutes of game. I have started with the option of extra land on all sides.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I have plenty of space, drivers updated, no mods, no background programs, tried changing resolutions, puting the game in full screen and windowed mode, no steam...
Nothing works...
My system:
Windows 11, Ryzen 9 5950X, 32GB Ram 3600Mhz, Zotac GTX 1650, hdd WD Black, 7200rpm.
I know that my GPU is lame, i am planning on buying a new one. But even so i don't think that the GPU is the problem.

Please don't re-open old threads in future! The game has changed a lot in 3 years.

Has this always happened since you've had the game? Or it was okay up to some point?

Does Safe Mode run any better?

I have started with the option of extra land on all sides.

What if you don't do that?

To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

AND DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.
