btw, if you are going to split France, please make Ottos stronger, so they become real threat for Austria...

(two last games aren't exactly good for judging France is overpowered. First one i was France:D, and second one Spain and England were neutral. And if you think MGC 4 means Ottos are threat to Austria, remember Austria was alone against me....)

and France;)

And just for the record Darth was on the brink of government collapse in the second grand war but for the intervention of the scandians. Here the game worked as it should: people intervented to prevent a huge gamelong shift in BoP. When people instead are selfish (not that this is always unrealistic or bad of course) then there exists the potential for countries to collapse utterly and leave people with a bitter taste.

Idea is not to balance the nations, but to create them closer to historical, france was devided and had vassals in 1492

Any analysis I will do will not be based on games. It will be based on historical fact to improve the intial 1492 simulation. My work will not be about MP balance but historical accuracy.

I will only be looking at France and Austria, its too much work for me to do anymore

Well, if you go for historical accuracy... Anatolia (not the province, the peninsula) had about 90% of Spanish population, yet it manpower is only 45% of Spain. Anatolia tax income is 44% of Iberian.

This is what I dont want to be sidetracked by.
I will be very focused on the one issue that I am looking at.
If anyone else wants to provide more accurate data for other regions- great. The more the better.

BiB and Wyvern doesn't seem to agree, but then we should style DoN more like a roleplaying game, and not a cut-throat strategy game. I don't think the 'exploits' you mentioned were exploits, Wyvern. And you didn't seem to mind when I gave you, playing France, Portuguese maps!
100% used as max could work, but it would also protect a dominant player from big player alliances.

Oh, just to answer this point you raised mnorrefeltdt, there is a difference between Portugal giving France maps voluntarily and letting her colonise parts of her ToT, and Spain mapping the NA coast and giving those maps to France.

If I as England had given maps to France and said hey go take Manhatten, then I would cede your point.

Anyhow it's over and done with now, lets let it rest.

I'm not really sure Eire existed in 1492 and if it did would it's tech group be Latin;) :D
