  • BATTLETECH - Backer
Hello all! Those from the Battletech forums know of this humble thread form 3+ years ago. It became a huge success thanks to all the Battletech peeps. Again thank you guys!

The reason for Mech Of The Week was to let the devs know that there is a lot of love for the forgotten (obscure mechs) heroes of the battlefield. But eventually even the popular mechs have been spotlighted. Great discussions and stories have been seen in that old thread. I decided that there are a few more mechs that needed to be showcased still. So what I am going to do is take off from where I left off in the Battletech forums. I will post the rules of the thread, they have not changed. I hope this will give some who are a little gunshy about this new place something familiar, in hopes they will come a talk with us.

If you are interest in what we have covered so far here is the link. https://community.battletechgame.com/forums/threads/204

Now the rules.

A random Mech (Tank or Areotech) that I randomly choose, will be highlighted once a week. NO CLANS! The production year at and below 3025. You tell a story of your experience with it. Can be a bad experience, good experience or a crazy mess. Could be from TT or a MechCommander game ect...
Discussions about the mech, its flaws, quirks or good things are encouraged as well!

The reason for the production year at and below 3025 is because that is where the current Battletech verse is now located in the time line.

Thank you and enjoy!

Crow

Welcome back. Glad to see the thread make it over here.

FYI, that link won't be a permanent solution. Eventually the old forum will come down.

Hey Havarnal. Yeah they will be eventually deleted. Its all good. I did request it for to be archived but its such a big thread that it may not be possible. No worries tho. I seen familiar faces and a lot of new ones. Hope all enjoy the new MOTW like the last one.

I think he did all the mechs in the old thread and is currently on Vees. Is that right @-Crow- ?

Did that include SLDF ones no longer in use? Of course those would be more obscure than any tank.

Might be worth it to open up the whole list again now that we have new people in our midst.
I'll agree to that. Got plenty of new folks who are either new to BT completely or new to HBS's game, and not many people are going to want to sift through 96 pages of stuff that they can't even comment on any more.

I have been kicking that idea around towards the end of the old thread. So I am open to that idea. I do have a favorite mech design in mind to do this next week.

Yes it did. Some of the mech designs (as well as weapons) were lost but that still would be in the 3025 stories, lexicon, legends ect. We may not be able to play them but it adds to a richer fuller verse to have some history. So I did include them from time to time.

I kinda had to laugh a little. I've been playing TT since the late '80s, and you managed to start the thread with one of the few designs I'm drawing a blank on. I can't remember ever using or playing against a Demon.
