they're making an RPG (Runemaster) with Clautzwitz and you don't think the engine can represent a Dark Ages game? I find your lack of faith ... disturbing.

what can I say ? I am a heretic who deserve only death I guess  .

I am just saying that in all the games paradox as made no matter how different were the faction playable between each other, they play mostly the same in the game safe for a few flavor mechanics and event.

And while in other games it more or less works despite the inconsistencies, I really don't see how you can make a dark ages game with the same gameplay for everyone. But hey maybe I am lacking imagination ? ;)

Now you can lynch me if you want.

I agree that a Dark Ages game cannot really be properly represented with everybody's countries functioning the same way.

I proposed two different types of governments (Barbaric and Classical) on the previous pages (which are very similar to your ideas, it only makes sense to use these as the basis for mechanics in this period).

I hope they are willing to make the bold move of having different governments function in totally different ways (which really hasn't been done before) and I'm excited by the idea.

The should add a "tribe creator" similar to the ruler designer and the nation designer, you create your tube, your culture, and create names for them.
