Warframe all the way. Good content, good monetization scheme, narrative, visceral gameplay, can earn everything in game without paying without face grinding, enemy and map variety, and the best items cannot be bought. Also it has PvP if that's your thing, though that's not why anyone plays it.

Well good for you. But I don't want to play Warframe. I want to pilot a mech. ;o

I mean sure if they had built the game from the ground up to be PvE coop. We might have had a different game. But they modeled MWO after World of Tanks. And what we got is what we got. And with it a similar F2P model.

But this isn't about MWO. It's about MW5. Which is not going to have pvp. And as far as I know won't have micro-transactions. They've said they want to do expansions if it does well. And if you're gonna hang them for that, then you can do the same to HBS since they've already announced DLC.

There's one thing MWO did right and that's the combat. I know not everyone agrees on that. But the community is of differing opinions on what is the epitome of Battlemech combat. But it's what kept me coming back even to this day. So we can at least expect MW5 to have good combat.

I think MWO and its combat rating depends a bit. The combat focuses on alpha strikes. If you were not alpha'ing everytime you're exposed, you're doing something wrong. The playstyle didn't encourage weapon variation though. Nowadays there is more variation in weapons (I've seen rotaries, heavy laser, heavy gauss etc pop up). Maybe its not the same. Maybe later in the year I'll give it a try again.

Uh huh. Except its been speculated the 'competitive portion' of MW5 would be split off into a MWO2 arrangment (which we've been talking about for like a page now) which warrants a comparison to better recieved and popular free-to-play games. World of Tanks has its own detractors, myself among them. There's a reason War Thunder is popular, some people prefer some things closer to realism than arcadey, one-vehicle-in-play stuff. On top of that, they shouldn't copy either verbatim, and its obvious they didn't since there's 'accurate' locational damage and no consistent way to get instant-kills.

Regardless of even that, the only multiplayer in MW5 that *might* be in as we know it now is a cooperative mode, which screams PvE coop unless its one of the stupid coop models that has everyone seperate but with "community contribution," and that itself warrants comparison to other cooperative focused games.

It's not like they're cutting out an existing portion of the game. They would have to recreate it from MW5's unreal engine. It's really more some players hoping they do this.

As for Coop, they've said you'll be able to join each other's campaign. So I'm guessing one person will act as host. And the others will connect to it. Since I'm sure PGI doesn't want the costs of hosting servers. Doesn't sound like you'll be able to have multiple player units in the same campaign. So much as your friends can play as your lancemates in campaign.
