The never before released MWATK by Kasperus. It was made for the MES scenario but never finished.
So Kasperus is working on it again? Wow. Pity He wouldn't join forces with CT , Basileios I, MKJ and jorian and help them build Arabia Universalis; there's a lot of maps being developed and none of those seems to be close to the end of its development.

No I'm working on it. Kasperus fixed the straits so that now anyone can develop it. The map itself was finished it's just the province.csv was basically empty. So I've been adding religions, cultures, tax values, goods, city names etc for each province whilst porting over the 844 scenario as I go with all the new province numbers and no ID map to work with.

Edit: Here's a screenshot of how it looks so far:

You'll remember that I started working on my own medieval mod on MWATK. At this time I made ID maps covering western Europe, as far eastwards as Scandinavia/Germany/Italy, plus the whole Mediterranean coast.

You may not find them very practical as there are many of them, one for each country/area, but I may still upload them if you think that they will be of any use to you (I can see on your screenshot that most of the scenario work is now done, but for events or resources, they may yet be useful).

I would love to see them.

If you find any good sources for goods please tell. :)

Actually I've basically been using the same goods as on WATKABAOI and the base income levels are generally a scaled down version of WATKABAOI too. I figured they could be open for debate and correction once I realise a beta.

Hi, the new land and naval tech names (8th century, 9th century etc.) are not appearing in-game. Instead, the old "late medieval" names still persist.

Also, for names of Finnish towns, Ulvila (established in the 13th century) should be the name for the city of the Satakunda (actually Satakunta) province and Porvoo (founded in the 9th century) for the Nyland province. Pori and Helsinki were established in the 16th century. Åbo, Viipuri, and Tavastehus will do just fine for the other provinces. I don't know about the Österbotten province, for it was deserted in the 9th century and only limited population occurred in the 11th century.

Though your converting to the other map, I thought these could be useful.

Hmm, I never noticed they didn't work. Now to figure out why...

Ah yes, I was struggling to come up with medieval Finnish city names for the new map. I was planning on using Helsinge (now Vantaa) for Nylland, I read it dated from the 1300s. Would Porvoo be better? I've got Vanaja for Tavastland, Turku for Finland and will now use Ulvila instead of Vaasa for Osterbotten (more like the current map's Satakunda)

That's not very surprising, considering that large amounts of Finnish towns were not established until about 1660 and the population only really increased in large numbers in the 19th century.

Helsinge was more of a rich village than a town. Porvoo, on the other hand, was granted city rights during the first half of the 14th century, while it had already been a city during the 13th century. Vanaja is good for Tavastland, though there was also a castle there in the 13th century, Tavastehus.

Anyhow, a good mod and I hope you'll continue developing it.

Excellent, my friend, this map would be a wonderful addition to the mod. Anyway, I wrote some texts about two or three months ago, I think I post them here (they worked perfectly in game). I used wiki as base, but changed sentences, thus sometimes put additional informations. Two nations, the Dregovichs, and Sijilmasa.

Dregovichs
The first document mentioning the Dregovichs (meaning marsh-dwellers) is the Russian Primary Chronicle. They were one of the tribal unions of early East Slavs, and inhabited the territories down the stream of the Pripyat River and northern parts of the right-bank Dnieper river. They were ruled by their prince from the city of Turov, but apart from that, there are very few exact informations about their sate structure. The Dregovichs left some archaeological monuments of the 9th and 10th century along the Pripyat, such as the remnants of agricultural settlements and kurgans with incinerated bodies. Their final downfall was set in by the rise of the Empire of Rus, and during the following centuries, the Dregovichs completely ceased to exist as separate slavic people.

Sijilmasa
Sijilmasa was an oasis town southeast of Fez on the northern edge of the Sahara, astride the Ziz River. It was established by Kharijite Sufris in 757. Up until the 11th century, it was one of the most important trade centres in the Maghreb. Sijilmasa became very wealthy through trade with ancient Ghana, above all through the exchange of luxury items from the Mediterranean for gold. Under the Midrarid dynasty of the Miknasa tribe, Sijilmassa became independent from the Abbasids in 771, and the Alliance of the Emirate of Cordova kept the Fatimids from taking control in the 10th century. After the Miknasa allied with the Fatimids, the berber Maghrawa took over. Their rule lasted until 1054, when Abdallah Ibn Yasin, founder of the Almoravid dynasty, captured the city. One year later, the city rebelled, killing Yahya ibn Umar, but in the next year, Abu-Bakr Ibn-Umar put down the rebellion and laid waste to the city. Tough rebuilt later, Sijilmasa ceased to be a center of trade, and in the early 19th century it was destroyed again, for the very last time.

Thanks. I will add them in the next addition.

Will you add the Mali Empire?

I will add them to the version on the new map but I do not have enough country tags to add the sub-saharan nations on the old map. The old map version is built to fit in with WATAKABOI so many tags must be reserved. The new map version I have the freedom to use the tags how I wish.

BTW, I am still working on this but due to exams things have to be put on hold for a couple of weeks. Hopefully I will have something to release soon.

Wow, someone still remembers my name after a long absence and only with half finished mods o.o
