How will the burgesses and cities be handled in CK? Can a ruler grant them special titles and rights to land in exchange for gold? Also can cities be fortified and cathedrales built in them?

producers of deveolpers please comment.
Thank You

It seems like there will be buildings to construct in a province. Don't know about cities as such. Certainly you will be able to build fortifications and with reilgion being so important cathedrals will probably be in the game.:)

What I remember from historylessons and reading books, is that rulers could ask money from cities for special occasions, like a crusade or some other war. In Dutch they were called bede's, an oldfashioned word for supplication, appeal or request. Also cities could ask money from merchants and rich citizens for the same reason. In the book "merchant from Prato", the main person Francesco Datini complains a lot about them :D

In return cities got the right to have a market, the right to have a stapelmarkt (I don't know the English word), and the right to ask for tolls.

Hmm - I just rememberd that Sergei said someone (Julia?) is working on town icons. So this means that either you will see icons for the different towns like in EU (in the left side window when you click on a province) or there are going to be separate towns (separate from provinces) in the game. Probably the former and not the latter. But who can tell?:)
