Metaserver

When I try to join games thru the Metaserver it will attempt to connect. Then it will act like its going into the game but then a box will pop up that says; Failed to connect. Then I go back out to the lobby... It does this over and over to me and a buddy of mine no matter whose game we're joining. The only way we can play together is if we just use IP addy. We would like to play with other people, but unsure how to get the ball rolling and get our games to connect thru Metaserver.

We're both using windows 7 and 6MB cable, I have a router he doesn't, but still it won't allow him to connect to other players.

You cant connect to the metaserver or you cant join each others games that you have created via the metaserver?

I have exactly the same problem with my brother. We both bought the game, him on Steam, I on Gamersgate. We can both join Metaserver, but when one of us tries to join the other's game, it says "game not found", or however is the message in english.

We tried to open UDP ports from 1630 to 1641, failure again.

Edit 2 : Works fine by Hamachi though.

I had a problem joining to a friend (and him to me), bot via IP and Meta. However, after doing as much opening of ports on my router as I could (UDP 1630-1641), on both "Firewall" and NAT, I was able to both host and join any games I tried.
Correct router setup appears to be crucial.
