Hi!

I'm getting a weird error each time I try to launch the game. The initial screens show up but just before I guess the game would move to the Main Menu, following information appears:

Runtime Error!

Program: \steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\ck2.exe

This application has requested a Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

This is very annoying because I'd really like to play the game, I even pre-ordered it which I very seldom do.

I attached the DxDiag file and the contents of error.log here so I hope that it helps to figure out the solution. Thank you.

Thank you! That actually solved the problem.

As a bonus, the settings that were originally in the settings.txt (screen resolution and the full screen option) seem to work now so I guess the problem was with the flag-file mentioned in the error.log, which was fixed by deleting the folder mentioned in the link above. Thank you again for a quick reply.

this also worked for me as i was having eactly the same problem.....cant remember what my normal resolution was tho...... damn!
