Hi, I'm currently in a 5 player 1936 campaign:

1. Germany (me)
2. Italy
3. England
4. Russia
5. USA

Me and the Italian player would like to share command over each others forces - so that each of us can use the full axis forces in his theater.
(i.e. the Italian player commanding all Axis forces in the West while the German player is busy in Russia while directly controlling the Italian forces in that theater etc.)

Taking milcontrol from another human player doesn't seem to work though?!

The only workaround I have found sofar was to load the game in single player for a short moment and take mil. control then save and restart as MP again.

This not a very satisfactory solution as it would involve the agreement ov all the other players involved - plus it might incure some instability into the game...

Any advice on this matter would be gladly appreciated!

have you tried sending expeditionary forces yet?

This is not about a few exp. forces but about shared command. Something like the Italilan player commanding all axis forces in the west including the forces of the german player while the German player is busy at the eastern front.

I dont know if there is a limit to Exp forces...but couldnt you just exp your forces in the west, and he exp his forces in the east??

I dont think there is a limit to the number of exp forces you can give. The only other way i know is to co-op one nation and assume mil control

Just select Military control of the other nation (Italy) and you should have no problem moving all their units.....this should work no problem. Does in the Beta version anyways. Will try in the retail version. Its a nice feature of HOI2.
Another idea is do a coop commnad of Germany and MC Italy.

Selecting military control for another - playercontrolled - country doesn't seem to work in MP.
The diplo menu gives you the option but nothing happens...

That was what this thread was about. The only way to "trigger" military control seems to be load the save in single player, take mil. control and then reload in MP (as stated above).

On exp. forces:
No they are no solution as this would open up another can of worms (supplie issues, upgrade issues etc. and cause a lot of micro management).

I think your only solution is just what you anticipated: starting MP session without your buddy, keep it paused and take MC over his country. Save. Then do the same with you leaving your country to AI and your ally take MC over it. Save and do final rehost when you take over your respective countries while having MC over each other.

...or edit it into the save.
