But anyway, I'm playing there right now and tech goes just the same as in Europe, just slower (moslem tech group and all).

I want to storm through Europe and convert the infidels and declare a Jihad (kind of like the crusades, but the other way around)
I am doing this right now. Makes a difference from European warfare and colonisation. Very limited diplomatic options though as there's only one other shia country. No troubles with declaring war though, CBs all around Persia also has a very good COT and big starting army. Though stay clear of the Ottomans early on as they're stronger at the start. I currently have a badboy of 31 in 1518 but the Jihad is going nicely

so any luck converting the sunnis infidels as well?

Quite fun to convert Mekkah to Shia But direction wise I seem to be heading Russia bound instead of Spain as my allies, the Mamalukes are obsctructing the way msotly to that part of the world. Also will bash some Mughal but later on

Since the Indian nations begin with heavily fortified provinces, they should be a bit of a challenge.
My very able (well, for the Persians anyway) general died just after securing the portal to Siberia so India will have to wait. Hope I get a random conquistador.
Shit, the next general comes round in 60 years. I guess India will have to wait quite a bit Ah well, plenty to do. Get into Siberia, control the Black Sea Coast, try and vassalize the Mamelukes, actually build up the economy, get the Ottomans out of Asia

In the next version of the IGC Russia will mostly be in Siberia in time - making it harder for Persia to cut them off.

...and how will this be done? Have you found a way to activate some of the permanent terra incognita?
I installed the IGC at one point (esp liked the outer European countries) but I fecked it up later. In that way even that I now refrain from messing with it for now
