Help please! It has been a while since I have played. I just installed a freshly bought HOI ... version 1.2. When I try to start, I get an error: "--- Pallette 'gfx\pallette\T-PANZER C-GER L-4.bmp' not found! --- etc." I patched to 1.06 but that did not help it. I reinstalled, tried again, then repatched, still no go. How do I fix this?

Dave

Um, how is it that you have not played for a while if you just bought HOI now?

Be that as it may, who is the publisher of your version, thier logo will be on the CD.

I knew this sounded familiar. See this old thread. masternick201 apparently fixed it just by upgrading; he was running v1.00.

Except he says he already upgraded to 1.06.

From what I can see his install must be corrupt somehow because apparently he has the .spr files that point to that .bmp but not the .bmp itself. If the error message he gives is exactly correct there could be a publisher/language problem; in my NA version those .bmp files are in palette, not pallette. The palette directory seems to be specified in the .exe while the filename is specified in the .spr file so installing 1.06 should have fixed it if it was installed correctly (since it's the same for all languages except for the Spanish version's translated text.csv, correct?). EDIT: neither the .bmp nor the 11 .spr files that point to it were present in 1.02; they were added in 1.03.

Well let's wait and see who the publisher is like I asked him. ;)
