A simple mission editor would be wonderful! It would give multiplayer a huge boost and would give single player battles the ability to become really interesting. All you would need for the editor would be the ability to select: country, ships, weather conditions, time of day, ship placement and direction, and of course "Large Maps" that would have a variety of coastline and open sea terrain, I would pay extra for this editor as it would open a whole new dimension to this game and really bring it close to its true potential.
I'm not to sure why there is a time limit on battles but I would choose not to have this. I'm finding that your ships start battles between enemy ships and the coast or rocks and that the wind direction is always in the enemies favour, in fact I did a test and my fleet always starts into the wind and is in "irons", also it places the enemy ships down wind, and in a nice formation while mine is strung out and impossible to get a good formation. I have already lost about three ships before I can get some speed on a down wind run. Is this to make the battles more challenging, no commander in his right mind would ever enter a battle in that position that we are forced to take.
I'm really happy that I've purchased this game and I'm just hoping that with the beautiful ships and graphics, you can resolve these issues.
