I'm 100 years into my first GC and loving it, but still trying to find some answers in the manual.

Can't find the answers on Huzcics' or Oranje's FAQs either.

Page 75 of the manual states, 'colonists may be used as merchants, colonists or missionaries.' Then it never explains how to use them as missionaries. Anyone have a clue?

Page 68 attempts to explain inflation, but is so cryptic it may as well be written in Egyptian heiroglyphics. It says, 'Secondly, inflation is affected if your country borders on a country that produces gold.' Affected how? Negatively or positively? It doesn't say. Instead it jumps right onto another confusing point, saying, 'Thirdly, the inflation rate will be impacted for every neighboring country that has higher inflation than your country.' Impacted how? Negatively or positively?

And try this one on page 69: 'Note that all income connected to taxes, trade, and production is affected by inflation.' There's that word, 'affected,' again. It's absolutely meaningless in this context. Is income affected positively or negatively by inflation? As prices rise, is my income also rising, or is it shrinking? Does anyone know?

Anyway, I still love the game. But learning has been a trial and error experience.

Hey no kidding , i took my 7 Disasterous wars in which i had to Cede away numerous Provinces , Before i finally Captured one ! anyway , All i know about Inflation is this.If you take out loans, And refuse to pay them back.Inflation will rise.Keep taking Out loans.Inflation will Go nuts.Pay back your debts,That should,Keep inflation in Check.

I think what it means by 'missionaries' is that if you colonize a province (meaning that the province must have less than 5000 people in its major city) then the province's religion changes to the state religion if it isn't already.

I'm assuming that on page 68, it means affected positively.

Although, I don't have a manual that I can actually read, yet ;).

I honestly haven't noticed gold having a big effect on inflation. Playing Russia with cities on all the siberian gold provinces, the Golden Horde one and two in the Americas it is still insignificant. Once you reach Infrastructure tech 5 then you can afford to build governors everywhere and get inflation back to 0% then run the country on 100% treasury for a few years and go on a spending spree. Troops and manufactories everywhere :)
