Also one other thing I also have the serious lag issue at midnight when at war. Other than that Mod 34 has to be the best mod or strategy game I have ever seen. Which is in part what makes it so frusterating that the game has this one small flaw. If anyone knows how it can be fixed and could tell me I would appreciatte it. Also first post :D

Great mod! Really enjoy playing it. Nice and stable in MP als well :)

I have a question though, not sure if it has been asked before, but was it intentional to link the CV lvl VI to the BC 30.000ton tech? When this tech is researched it makes the CV become available. I feel that it gives a strong CV for nations who do not need to really reseach other CV techs (like Germany)

also as posted before the Demobilisation event seems broken. It is bad enough that it destroys 2 Army Corps but it triggers afetr each reload. I lost almost my entire Finnish Army after the winterwar and several short sessions :(

Okay Total n00b question, but I installed it, and nothing happens.., Do you need DD or Armageddon for it, if there is a version for HoI2 please send me the link, and if there is no hope, can someone direct me to something similar to it. Thanks

First of all, great mod!

I played a few games and in every of them the Soviets take Berlin in 43, so it pretty much always ends with Soviet rolling all the way down to France.

Is it just "bad luck" or are the russians kinda overpowered?

Bad luck if I would have to say.

No you need to overwrite everything in the folder into your Doomsday folder. When it asks to overwrite click Yes.

I'd say they're a little bit overpowered. I invaded them in '41 with welll over 100 average motorized-infs, some cavalry, regular infs (in all another ~50) and about 25 tanks ('Löwe'-class!) and boy they're giving me a hard time! Right now it's mid-August (I started Barbarossa June 1st) and all I have taken so far is Moscow (yep! the only part of my strategy which went according to plans). Leningrad is encircled but not taken yet and I got quite a way to go for Stalingrad - let alone Baku, Murmansk, Sverdlovsk, etc.
At least 2/3 of my troops are worn down to around a quarter of their regular strenghth! Soviets don't seem to look much better but I have to watch my back all the time not to run into a counterattack even though I had my campaign executed rather warily, only hitting them from at least two directions at a time. Still: According to my 10 spies in the USSR the Red Army is still operating around 220 infantry (almost 300 at the beginning of the campaign) and about 20 armour divisions.
In the meantime, allied bombers and fighters in the west are on the verge of establishing air-superiority over my 4x4 fighters-squadrons which I left there. Damn!
Apart from my current difficulties, I'd say Mod'34 is certainly a great, riveting mod which really deserved its own sub-forum here on Paradox.

I have a suggestion.

Please lower the org of submarines to at least 10 or even less. Currently those ships are of rather little use and almost always not worth the effort.

This is a major issue.

Personally I have lost my 18 flotilla strong submarine fleet in a couple of engagements (despite the fact I have retreated) and later used my subs amost only for scouting coastlines of invasion sides and added some to my larger fleets... :(

Lovely mod chaps, best one othere imo.
But can I see how much I have in the +/- research modifier? ex. if i have +110 or minus ect~ Would be good to know so that I reasearch the right things and not stuff that gives minus when its way too low already

If you click the overview tab, in the tech section, you'll see the research modifier number in the middle bottom part.

Like many others I love this mod as well. I've been playing it steady for about 5 months and currently have around 6 games going with different minor and major countries. I agree with some of the above posters the Soviets seem to be to much of a powerhouse but I don't think there would be anyway to legitimately tone them down. They really were a powerhouse in world war 2. Perhaps maybe delay them early a bit would be the only fix. I've never seen the AI make it in to Moscow(which would be historical). They really have difficulty breaking in the south never have I seen them even close to Stalingrad, and Germany is usually about to fold before or around 43-44ish. If playing on the allies side I have to scramble to get a portion of Europe before the red machine takes it all. I've even tried helping playing an organized and strong Romania. If I don't take over the german forces it seems the AI isn't organized enough to take out so much territory.

I find carrier research is also a bit to simple. The U.S. can produce the top end carriers with top CAG by early 40's with little harm to the rest of their tech study's. Maybe an increase in research requirements or research time is needed for the top carriers. Essex class carriers were what the majority of the U.S. carriers were by the end of the war. They can be built in large numbers way to early.

Also as posted above what does the initial mod difficulty settings do? I play harder most of the time but don't exactly know what it does to help the AI.

There's quite a few minor tweaks and adjustments that could be made to this mod, like any mod really, but it is by far(my personal opinion of course) the best mod I've played. The open tech trees and large amount of choices can make every game you play different as you see fit. Keep up the great work. Next up for me I think is to play spain which I believe a lot of the mod was geared for :D

where do you download the no time limit patch. the link isn't working

IIRC, there's a patch included in the installer, no need to hunt another down.

Can anybody provide / point to a primer about the do's and don't in Mod34 compared to HoI2/DD?

I tried a game as germany ... pretty clueless about the techtree, but I THOUGHT I began to manage, then Danzig rolled around, and while I had considerable initial success vs. the Polish, France had behaved highly unhistorical in amassing TONS of divisions including a lot of tanks.
I needed the bulk of my forces to try and overrun Poland (had MASSIVE losses, though, after a week or so my reinforcement need was at >150), obviously, so the west was defended by about a dozen INF and about the same number in garrisons. The french concentrated 70 (!) divisions in a border province, breached the front with tanks and flooded into germany.
In the east, I pushed the polish back, mainly thanks to my tanks, but they also concentrated most of their army in a single province (maybe 50 divisions) and I couldn't penetrate it. Even attacking from all sides with all my tanks plus a lot of INF (with HQ and proper command) would just bleed my ORG, and the polish still defeated me soundly, counter attacked and due to extremely slow org regain compared to vanilla, would begin to drive me back.

Is that really WAD? What obvious research path(s) could I have neglected?
What division composition should Germany have by '39?
Any other hints?

Like I wrote, a primer would be appreciated, but if anybody can at least shell out a hint or two, that'd help immensely.
I never had problems as germany in vanilla DD...

Thanks.
