This is a small mod that adds an additional 27 colors (and white) to the base 20 in the original game. This causes the game to have a greater degree of diversity for both flags and nation border colors.

INSTALLATION:
Download mod HERE Updated 29 May 2016 for 1.1.0
Extract the contents of the zip file into your "documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/mod" folder.

FEATURES:
28 additional colors
New combinations for all colors
More space for color selection in species editor interface (icons are still not smaller)

POSSIBLE ISSUES:
Ultramarine is a bit painful on the eyes.
Nation Borders with Peach, Yellows and Light Blues may cause difficulties for Hyperlane visibility--I toned some of these down a bit.
Icons themselves are still not smaller.

NOTES:
This mod is save game compatible.
This mod is ironman achievement compatible
(I'm surprised myself)
This mod may become incompatible with future updates.
This mod may not be compatible with some mods.
(Since it edits interface/customize_species_editors.gui through interface/fortyeightcolors_customize_species_editors.gui)

USAGE:
Use, modify, and edit as desired.
Please follow the Paradox rules for user-made mods.

SPECIAL THANKS:
@Talvos for some knowledge on the interface file, easing any future compatibility issues.

FAQ:

Q: How do I make this compatible with a mod that edits flag colors or the flag interface in "interface/customize_species_editors.gui"?
A:
If you want to add the colors, then simply place this mod's contents into any desired mod folder (or preferably, run both of the mods in the launcher)

If the mod you are trying to edit has its own changes in the interface make sure to do the following: Copy the file "fortyeightcolors_customize_species_editors.gui" from this mod's interface folder and place it in the desired mod's interface folder. Make certain that "fortyeightcolors_customize_species_editors.gui" is alphabetically as low as possible in order for it to override the mod's interface files.

Great idea, thank you for this mod @Genusaus.
With luck, we won't have as many empires using the same primary color (and bordering each other).

The presentation of your mod is nice too. Sober but useful, and your FAQ is a great idea.

Hm, This is all you have to do to add more colors?!!
I Found the List for RGB Colors, and was Like okay, this is going to be simple, But if this is one way of adding more colours, this is deff far more simple lol

Thanks!

Is it ironman compatible?

Yes. It's surprisingly ironman & acheivements compatibile.

It is pretty simple I'd say. There are probably people with a better sense of palettes and colors that could make a mod of this sort. The only thing that was obscure was the gui file edit to change the species creation editor's amount of selectable colors.
