Oversight, I actually am working on correcting that in my notes when I noticed it earlier while reading about Gunships. I think I just slapped a name on a Small-focused ship and Gunboat sounded fitting.
 
To get pictures onto steam workshop (I've spent an embarassing number of hours on this), add this to your XXX.mod file.

picture="XXX.jpg"

And put the picture in the same directory as your mod. It should be right next to where description.mod would be. It also seems there's a size limit to how big the picture can be.
 
Major patch rolling out, I think you guys will be excited =)

-Complete file structure overhaul, we now use unique files.
-Ship Sizes are now their own files.
-Ship Components are now their own files.
-Ship Assets and Entities are now their own files.
-Localizations are now their own files.
-Strike Craft overrides are now their own file (and thus are overriden by other mods that are farther in the alphabet ala Beautiful Battles).
-Fixed a bug with Frigate Models in the Ship Designer.
-Fleet Carrier's core model is now the Colony Ship for each faction, giving them a bulky and unique look.
-Removed Fleet Carrier's aura capabilities.
-Strike Craft have been completely rebalanced. They engage farther, have shorter range, deploy faster and with more of them.

This mod is great, i really like having more ship classes, to add diversity to my fleets.
I reaally hope that in those "planned classes" there is some sort of an anti-air cruiser, with lots of small slots for PDs and maybe a large one for flak.
It should be useful against carriers.

Light Cruiser or Fleet Cruiser are what you're looking for. They'll be added eventually (Fleet Cruiser and Light Carrier (not Light Cruiser) are my next two actually.)

Light Cruiser is primarily small weapon slots with an ROF bonus. Fleet Cruiser is a hangar/point defense based cruiser with PD defense range bonuses.

I've been really enjoying it thus far - I had originally created a whole bunch of ships myself but I've been deleting them as your versions superseded them (Frigate being the first to go!).

In terms of which ships I'd like to see next... in the absence of XL weapons it might be better to focus on getting the smaller ships implemented and balanced?

The way that I implemented the Light Cruiser for my own use is as a 2-section cruiser... using the front and rear section models from the vanilla cruiser. Similarly for battlecruisers I added a fourth section to the cruiser. Seemed like a good way of reusing the existing models but probably not balanced at all :)
