I just found that event, I never make an event by myself so I don't really know what to do. Also I had to modify the Italian AI to not to improve the relations (Otherwise it's the same that Italy joins too early) with them so when Germany controls Paris italy most likely to join.
And another question now you works only on the Techs yes? And when you finishes there be a few new events too?
Hi,
where is this event "hiding"?

And yes, ther will be also new events.
For now I did already a new china chain and also the upgrade events.
And I also have some new to add for that alternative scenario..

Updated the first post with a preview of the next version..

Well im looking forward to it.On vacation for the next two weeks so plan to spend some time playing Hearts of Iron 2 Doomsay (hope the update is for that version) and your technology tree is is perfect.Plus combat with sea units is balanced to perfection.Hope Paradox has seen what you have done and use it in Hearts of Iron 3. Am I right is this for Doomsday?Iwonder as I saw the end date 63 in the preview screen shot.Thank you for a great mod .

Hi,
and yes you can play it with DD.

The first screenshot is just a fisrt view on the next Version of AHOI and shows that you really can expect around 1500 techs.
And that NEXT version will be for ARMA.

I hope you enjoy the Mod.

Have a nice day,

I'm also working on the graphics but now I had work and I don't have that much free time.
Hi Tzoli!
Good to know that you are still on it.
Take your time.
As you can see, he next version will have the amount of pictures nearly tripled(!). So maybe you want to wait for this next version anyway?
I rewriting the whole tech tree from scratch, so no ID is one of the old ones.
And the DIV/BRIG system has a complete overhaul again.
(No more lone AA/AT/ART etc. attachements!)

Best regards,
Chromos

Thank your for your response Chromos.Thats great should be getting Armageddon soon. Was waiting to see if patches by Paradox would fix remaining problems.1.2 patch seems to have done its job.
Chromos there is a small mod CDCP for Armageddon 1.2 (Community Database Cleanup Project) fixing small things like Paradrop mission efficiency.
With this mod along with DAIM(ARM version of course) and your mod AHOI it should be a unbeatable package.

Hi Protra3211,
I thing I'll have integrated nearly all the CDCP adresses.
Or I'll at least adapt a version like I did with DAIM and SMEP.
Later on we could also think about new graphics, but first the game mechanics.. :D

Good to see your opinion about AHOI. That gives allways some extra motivation to mod on.

Have a nice day,

From what I've read about this mod I am waiting anxiously the next release...
I can't wait any more too. But it's so much to do left.
On the other hand, I'm in a good "mood" to finish the next version this summer.
And it should be also playable.
(After all this modding it's time for playing again and not only testing..)

I'm not sure if i ever posted on this thread or just subscribed, but I'm eagerly awaiting the Armageddon version as well.

due to some weirdness involving mods, reinstallations, and the data layer Bubbleing off the disk in the drive [i have no idea how that happened! ] i can't actually play doomsday at all, so don't get to enjoy the awesome that this appears to be until that version is available.

eager anticipation goes here.

How far along is the Alternate history scenario associated with this mod?

Hopefully this will not take too long.

The Alternate Scenario should be also basically playable with the new tech tree. But is has to be done more on the AI for this new countrys. Maybe I can speed it up with the AI from other Mods that have these countrys too. At least for the first testing.
I was planned long time ago to have such an scenario (Already in HOI1 times). But first I wanted to change the tech tree. Then I worked on the scenario, and then decided (Or better found out how I can add much more techs to the tree) to change the tech tree again. After that I 'll concentrate further on the '36 GC. Normal and Alternate.

very nice, though some of the headings are a bit unclear as to what groups of buttons they go with [and some of the button groups look as though they could be part of what's to the left of them or what's above them] and a few of the names are a bit... weird. i believe that paradox typically used 'semi-modern' rather than 'early modern' or 'basic modern' for clarity's sake, for one thing.

I'm curious as to how you're costing all these techs. the only other mod I've seen which expanded the tech tree removed the historic year and jacked up the cost of later techs. early game, that worked as a fix, but when you get to researching techs needing level 20-30 with a nation that's only got level 7 tech teams, it kinda stops being so good.

that said, with so Many techs, I'd assume the level of each would be lower and the historic years closer together.

is there any way to colour code things or draw lines between them so we can tell which things deactivate each other [and surely Some of those do :S] and which group they belong to? i know paradox did this, but i'm not sure if it's hugely easy or not.

just thoughts i had from seeing the images, and not vital, but nice if possible :)

progress is shiny.

Hi,
I'm not a native speaker, so it could be that some names are not that clear.
On the other hand, I used basic-modern and the like just because I need some different names (10 differnet) and if I had used semi-modern earlier I had to use post modern and post post modern..
maybe I'll switch to years later on..

The "costing" will be a balancing matter. Also I hope I can add a system (with events) that allows to skip some techs and jump in any time you want.
For example, research early Arty and than leave basic/imp/adv and start researching modern.. Research basic Cruiser and then Advanced later on..
The later techs will be for sure harder to research. Then researched techs in other fields like computers and education will come in very handy.
And it is ok that some countrys have better teams than others. On this topic, we could adjust the stats of tech teams..

These pics show also very first impressions of what to come.
I just wanted to show that I'm still working seriously on this one.
Further versions will be hopefully easier to overview.

Thank you for your feedback and have a nice day!
:)

i say 'only level seven' as compared to the 20s needed in that example. remember, 7 is High. there May be a couple of level 9 tech teams in there [german or american] but that's it.

basically, your techs come in such small increments that I'd be surprised to find much costed above 7 at all, if that high. just thinking that using historic years to balance that rather than raising the cost would be the better way to do it. the levels aren't regular [how Does that work? tech level compared to team level somehow? ] while the historic year Is.

[and even then paradox only jacks up the cost of One part of it, not all of them. switching the last... err.. sub... thingy... in a tech from 7 to 14 does far more than double the time it takes to research, for example]

ehh, i dunno. just something to keep in mind: techs with every sub part having a higher cost than the level of any tech team break the game. that's all.

oh, and when i said it was unclear which things went with which, that's just a matter of positioning, mostly.

[also, if this ends up sounding stupid, waffly, and meaningless... it probably is *sigh* it seems to be the day for that.]

But I don't understanding how I can install version with DAIM & SMEP (becoue with DAIM gameplay is very cool)
PS
(not have MS Office on computer)
Hi Saby,
you just have to copy the extracted download into your HOI2-Folder, overwriting files if asked and start the AHOI.bat.
Than you could play HOI with SMEP/DAIM/AHOI together.

It is for Doomsday only. Next version will be for Armageddon.

Have a nice day,

High level techs and doubles will be only coming with very important key-techs. So that it is hard to get them, and more of a strategic decision. (And of course very hard for small countrys.. ;) )
As far as I can see now, ther will be no lvl 20 research be needed..
