So I actually put link to this in my other mod for the defines.lua to help characters have more children, but it seems like people aren't seeing that, so here is it's own little forum thread.

Just makes a couple edits to the character interaction ' arrange marriage' which will allow you to arrange marriages for anyone in your country, be it a monarchy, republic, or tribe. Characters will still marry as they normally would, but they aren't marrying enough in the base game I find, so this gives them a big nudge with your help.

Doesn't allow same sex spouses yet. I can edit it in, but I'm worried that the AI might suddenly marry everyone off to a same sex spouse, and then there will be no children. It already has enough trouble marrying 20 year olds to 70 year olds... Working on an adoption mod as well which should settle that problem, so we shall see if I can figure that out.

UPDATE:
Now includes a 'divorce' interaction for your spouse as well as a decision to create a new character.

Highly suggest you download my edits for the defines.lua file which will allows characters to have more babies overall. Found here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...r-no-one-marrying-or-having-children.1172619/

Great idea but this mod doesn't seem to work. Is it compatible with the latest patch?

If you add in a same sex marriage option, you're going to have to add consorts or lovers or have traits that limit how many people become genetic dead ends.

Yes this is essentially my line of thinking. Obviously a player will generally only do it for roleplaying purposes and not all the time. The AI would need guidance. A trait somewhat similar to the homosexual trait (though not called that because that concept didn't quite exist back then) from CK2 might do the trick for characters that full-on marry a same-sex spouse. For most everyone else, I am toying with the idea of adding lovers to the gui. Generally every character would have a small chance to acquire a same-sex lover. Once that's nailed down, I'd move on to adding events for the particular cultures and their reactions to a person outwardly professing love for someone of the same-sex. Most cultures didn't much mind two women, but two prominent men was usually a Big Bad for whichever one was regarded as the less manly.

The patch didn't seem to change anything, and it's working on my end. Try it again and let me know if it still isn't working for you? You may need to try the old unsubscribe/subscribe trick.

Just to let you know, the mod is working fine now. Thanks! This is a great mod and has made the game a lot more interesting for me :)
