Small & compatible shader mod for better button contrast - makes the unavailable (disabled, greyed-out) buttons, diplomacy menu items (and whatever icon uses the same button) shader much darker while making the moused over items brighter:

I got tired of not being able to easily see if an action or menu item is currently disabled or not (the default colours, light blue and very light grey, are too similar to each other, especially with Night Shift or Night Time turned on in the OS for less sleep-depriving blues). Modifies just the button shader so should be pretty much compatible with everything, with the possible exception of multiplayer.

Better Button Contrast on Steam Workshop

Made it for myself, but any suggestions welcome, since a lot of the UI could be improved just by pixel shaders. The mod is currently very simple and compatible, it modifies only a few RGB shader values for "buttons" (that includes several icons which use the same calls, like raise levies and others) but no graphic files at all. Could be improved with more shaders for better contrast yet :)

There are a few issues like "Send" buttons a little too dark and such (although I like it), but nothing game-breaking. Ironman & achievements & most mods (HIP & Bigger Interface tested) compatible.
