A little question about the HIP (EMF+SWMH) compatibility patch: is it possible to show adult portraits at 14 years old? I've tried to change the "NDefines.NCharacter.PORTRAIT_ADULT_MALE_AGE_THRESHOLD" and female equivalent parameters in the common/defines/emf_defines_BLG.lua, but it doesn't seem to work.

For that change edit interface\portrait_properties\BLG_portrait_properties.txt, under "p17 Child portraits" is a "practical_age < 16" condition.

When I play with BLG on for AGOT a pink circle appears around my character after he dies, anyway to fix this?
That's intentional, for tracking your play history.
If you want to remove it, edit interface\portrait_properties\BLG_portrait_properties.txt to remove the whole "p11 player" section.

I want to play HIP with BLG. What is the addon that I pick to make it compatible?

Sorry to bother you again and I'm kind of late, but it doesn't seem to work, I've tried to set it to 15 and I've tried to set it to 14 and change the age of the p18 page accordingly. Any idea about what I might have been doing wrong?

If you're using the default installation (EMF+SWMH) you need to move the blgccemf and blgccswmh compatibility patches from the betterlookinggarbsaddons folder, activate both and better looking garbs. I'm not totally sure but I read that it's recommended to not install CPRPlus, if you happen to have all the required portrait packs to begin with. Of course if you're not using the map mod (SWMH) you only need the EMF compatibility patch.

Thank you, it seems I was on the right path then. I am trying exactly that configuration (EMF+SWMH-CPRPlus).

Not sure, I've just tested this change and it works.

Suggestion: Make Avar portraits a bit more Asiatic looking!

"A genetic analysis in the year 2018 about ancient Avar ruling-class individuals showed a predominantly East-Asian Mongoloid origin. There were also several individuals that are closest to modern Han Chinese and Japanese people."

These are the most recent analysis on Avars and their genetic origin

And here is a recent facial reconstruction of Avar remains:

I learned from the article "Anthropological conclusions of the study of Roman and Migration periods" by Erzsébet Fóthi (http://www2.sci.u-szeged.hu/ABS/Acta HP/44-87.pdf) that Avar nobles had been predominantly of Mongoloids/Tungids but their lowborns appeared as mixture of Turanids and Europids of different types (Cromagnoids, Nordoids and Mediterraneans).

I think the mixed look works because the earliest start date is already towards the late Avar Khaganates lifetime, when they've settled there for a while.

Any chance you can make female Langobardo portraits and Francique portraits with Byzantine hairstyles?

While waiting on the next game patch changes to include there's time for more public testing.

Changelog:

Added Elder Kings compatibility submod.
Updated portrait backgrounds with more graphics from the new default set and other additions.
Added the background window frames as a new layer for more combination possibilities.
Updated remaining chins.
Block scepters and such when society clothing has staves or spears.
Dukes of non-European cultures get a wider selection of headgear,
opening up royal clothing to dukes in balance.
Swap default bear type to brown bears.
