Release 18-11-2019 for 3.3.0
Better Looking Garbs

Better Looking Garbs is a portrait overhaul mod combining portrait DLC and custom new material to add diversity in clothing and styles for many of the games cultures. The faces, clothing, hair and beard-styles of each source has been recombined to create new portraits.
These new portraits fill the holes still unserviced with cosmetic DLC and add gradations to the existing portrait sets.
In addition to the portraits there are updates to the army and councillor avatar models.
While based around the use of DLC assets these are not required, an installer will add dependent parts of the mod selectively.

Split Romano-Gallic and Romano-British portraits.
Finish applying noble minor titles like despot and queen mother to clothing consistently.

Added clothes to nun outfits in case of headgear hiding.
Changed some current year checks to year of birth checks for history view.

How remove lover friend rival frames? They are curve in elder kings mod.
They should work normally. If you changed the name of the Elder Kings mod update the dependencies in blgccelderkings.mod.
You can find GFX_lover_overlay in betterlookinggarbs/interface/portraits/portrait_sprites.gfx.
You can remove the spritetype or fix the noOfFrames to match with the number of images the texturefile contains.

Hey Nendur! In need of a little bit of help here. You mentioned in a previous post that you've added the original Fylkir crown back in as an option, I was just wondering how I would go about "enabling" it as it were?

Many thanks!

In betterlookinggarbs/gfx/characters/shared/ you can find the files special_crowns_alt.dds and special_crowns_behind_alt.dds. Remove the _alt from the filenames and replace the default versions.

Hello, @Nendur and happy Holidays!

I'm wondering if you could check BLG's and Cultural Cities' compatibility with HIP, since a fresh huge update is out, with a new bookmark and 2 new cultures (Pagan Hungarians and another variation of Mongols, I think.

Cheers!

The new cultures will use their default graphics until changed which works well enough.

Good to know. Will the Great works and CCRemix use the default ones too?

Btw will you please check the Italian portraits when you have the time? They look rather ''weird'' comparing with the rest, a bit cartoonish if I may say so.

Not sure why there is such a huge difference in the 933 bookmark for example:

The first one is of Germanic Lombard ethnicity.

Thanks for the answer about the difference. The default Italian ones still are a bit cartoonish compared to the overall portrait style of BLC though.
Anyway, it'll be great if you'll find the time to revisit them at some point.
Cheers!

A Game of Thrones mod has been updated recently and it would be cool if you also updated your compach submod.
And thank you for your hard work, I simply can't play without BLG seeing all those ugly default faces!
