Major mod features:

- New religions and cultures
- Reworked buildings and Men-at-arms
Now you’re probably not here for a sales pitch, but instead looking for the release date.
We’re proud to announce the mod will be released on the 25th of April.
Before I head into more detail about the bookmarks, most of which you’ll be familiar with from the original mod by Svanley, I wish to give credit where credit is due.
The vast majority of work to get this mod updated since 1.8 has been done by Cascade10; this mod would not have been able to be released in such a clean state without him.
I myself have barely contributed since the initial port to 1.7, so please do give thanks to Cascade10 for his amazing work in cleaning up the files, making it maintainable and doing all of the porting work since then.
Now onto the 2 bookmarks and some screenshots for those who have never played the original.
“Behold, traveler, the ancient kingdoms and tribal realms that surround the Great Green…”
The first bookmark is in 2115 BCE, which heavily focuses on Egypt and Mesopotamia. In Egypt, we see a period of drought and strife after the fall of the Old Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the primary actors of our bookmark all seek to dominate Kemet.
In Mesopotamia we see an ongoing conflict that threatens the region, with decisions to be made that will reverberate throughout history; what will become of the Great Sumerian Revolt?
Will you prevail against the oppressive Gutians, or will they strike back against your attempt to free yourself from their hateful yoke?
Or shall the Gutians succeed in stamping out the sparks of freedom?
Play as one of the primary actors and shape this world to your will.
A wide variety of characters and distinctive personalities are seeking power in the region, each with their strengths and weaknesses - choose your ruler wisely and may the gods see fit to grant you victory!
Perhaps, however, you are not interested in the first Intermediate period or the Great Revolt.
In that case there is the second bookmark, 1590 BCE, with 4 separate bookmarked regions.
To begin we go back to Egypt in the Second Intermediate Period:
Opportunity arises once more, and as the dust settles over the Delta, will you seize your destiny?
Meanwhile in Mesopotamia, after the sack of Babylon, chaos is rampant and new peoples may rise in the aftermath…as the flames of one fire cease to burn, another conflagration takes its place.
There is certainly no lack of claimants and pretenders to the glory of Babylon…
Perhaps you’re not interested in the cradles of civilization, but fear not, dear Reader, for the Bronze Age allows you to play far from the ancient cities of the East. In that case, why not have a look at the Perfidious Aegeans with the recent eruption of the island Thera? This unprecedented catastrophe must be a sign from the gods, surely.
The eruption of Thera has reset the game board, so to speak, and many powerful players are placing their pawns in strategic positions…the deadly game is about to commence in earnest.
Perhaps the proto-Greeks and Aegeans are also not of interest to you. In that case, why not play in the lands of the Hatti, of what is now modern Anatolia or in the Mittani Syrian lands?
The assassin’s blade might have found its home in Muršili’s heart, but hostilities are only just beginning…
