Hi, glad you are still working on this^^

I can probably share the offmap HRE tab I did for my own project (LCDA), you can see it in the mod's thread.
Don't mind asking for some art, I'll see if i can help with that.
So have you abandoned LCDA, your own project? Or would you two work together to finish this one? I mean, it seems that you are focusing on the same area.

Well, I barely have spare time to really work on my other mods so LCDA tends to be left behind, i work more on research than actual coding for it.
I'd probably go with CK3 for LCDA. If the new opus provides the same map editor (literally painting terrain, topography, moving positions by drag'n'drop...) as Imperator does, it would be almost a pleasure to do some mapmodding. Main irk ATM in CK3 is the lack of playable republics, but I am pretty sure it will come in a later patch or DLC.
So if you plan to port your project into CK3 either, yes, I guess we could join for it ;)

Sure we can do that :) for CK3. Also thanks for the UI offer I‘ll look into your Designs for the Off–Map.

Can't find back my screenshot in the forum, so here it is.

The WIP design, also showing the offmap button.

I hope we get an update on the progress soon

Dev Update 14.04.20
Dev Update 14.04.20 - Aaaand woosh it's April

No excuses. Just priorities. I think thats the way I can summarise the last few months that did damage the progress on the Mod.

First of all: I'm still working on it and it will progress, although it progresses slowly. I have some help with it but I noticed that I don't need many people at the moment.

I took up some contract work in December that really took out a bite of my time, as well as another Game Project which is close to release. (I'm under NDA here so I can't really talk about that)

Were will the Mod go from here?
I'm not particularly concerned about the release of CK3, because I'm quite ceartain that the features given at launch will not suffice to port this mod. I will take a look as soon as I we have more information.

Two priorities are currently on the top on my list that are mechanically missing to get the mod up and running for a release version.
  • Basic Merchant Republic Tradepost Mechanics
Because we don't have a lot of coast here the Merchants need a different System were they can build Tradeposts.
  • Mechanics to form a Confederacy
This is the last needed feature to get out a Mod Alpha. Together with a Confederacy Event Chain starting in 1280.
Tradeposts
To spice things up I will readapt some features of the Base Game. Mines! Merchant Republics will be able to build Tradepost Mines mainly salt on a few locations on the map. Also they are allowed to build Tradeposts along any of the North South Traderoute.

This will make the cities very powerful in terms of wealth. The Local counts will also be able to build Tradeposts along the trade route but only in larger provinces.

Tiers of Alliances, Confederacies
Dukes and Higher of the Allemanic Cultures will be able to enter Alliances that are not based on dynastic ties. These Alliances will mainly function similar to tributaries (Except of corse there are no payments). So the initial Alliance will be a Diplomatic Targeted Decision.

  • Form Sworn Alliance
    • Be at least a Duke
    • Same Religion as the Target
    • Decision Taker must be Common Assembly or Republic Government
The sworn Alliance is primarily a way of the republics to get some more stable friendships going. They will be called to all defensive wars and will protect the comparatively weak Common Assemblies against the powerful feudal lords. If the Alliance is successful it can be formed into a confederacy via decision.

  • Form a Confederacy
    • Be at least a Duke
    • No Alliance Partner has a negative opinion of you
    • Has 1000 Prestige
    • 200 Gold
This will kick off a small Chain that will generate the title of the confederacy (You will be able to choose) and the agreement of every member of your Sworn Alliance.

Can someone leave a sworn alliance or the alliance be dissolved ?

Sworn alliances but with big hits to prestige and piety, because you break a oath.

Will the legendy oath takers be present at the start date, or their families?
Yes the formation of the confederacy is the main point in the original 1280 Startdate. So many of the semi-historical persons will be there. Together with the whole load of mythical figures... So if you are the feudal overlord of the Waldstätten you might not want to antagonise a local hunter with a very prominent crossbow.

I believe the mod should be done and compatible with the latest version of CK2 before we think of a move to CK3.
That way people who prefer CK2 can play it here. There doesnt need to be constant updates to the CK2 version after the CK3 one is up and about, but there should be at least a playable version.

Yes absolutely, that's why I'm not really thinking about it but I'll sure take a look on how things will work there.

Sounds great ;)

Any estimate when we can expect a playable alpha?

I'll be occupied with my graduation game project until Mid June but after that I'll pick up the mod development with a much bigger pace again (Up to 12h a Week)
My goal is to have a good first playable version on the Workshop by August 1st on Time for Swiss National Day, when I first posted about the mod.

Still on a release beginning of August?
Yes. I’m pushing hard to get there. I‘m just wrapping up the Mechanics on Sworn Alliances and Confederacy Foundation. The mechanics for abbeys and cities won’t be in focus for the initial release.

Once a playable Version is out there we will see :)

So the mechanics for the guilds and playable theocracies will not be implemented yet?

Sadly not for August 1st.
I really want them to feel special and that will take substantially more time.
Some things will get much easier when I have a basic scenario/startgame with a history to work from and try to balance these new Governments Mechanics. The Common Assembly Government will be initial one and with lots of player feedback I can improve upon it and take your feedback into account.

I hope that’s not a dealbreaker for you.
