Found no need to update for compatibility.
Should be perfectly fine for 2.8.

Great, this is the first mod I came looking for after the update. Absolutely essential!

That's why i keep it alive under my wings. :)
I also prefer the font Morinn made to the font mods on the Workshop.

By the way, does this work with other mods?

Depends.
In general the most likely answer is yes, but there are still two files that could collide with another mods' content.

Left and potential critical are fonts.gfx and tooltip.gui in the interface folder.
As long as another mod doesn't include one of these two, then they'll work fine.

eventwindows.gui became redundant, as the values got patched into the game.

Is there a way to fix the game rules screen? The text seems to be too large for the rules and overlaps a bit.

I have no trouble as you describe, but i play on 1920x1080, so i suppose it's a resolution issue.
The easiest fix would probably be as Dsingis describes it above.

Still i'm curious what resolution you play on ?

edit: There seems to be a bug regarding the game rules window.
Is it like this ?

Hi, no this is not what I mean. I also play at 1920x1080 and this is what I mean:

It's certainly not the end of the world but I thought there might be some easy fix to it. I am not using any other mods and version 2.8 PLQA.

Ah that. Oh i got that well before 2.8.
Not an "easy" fix either ( i made a quick test), but implementing a change in game_rules.gui would cause
compatibility problems with other mods, like Bigger Interface for example.

Keeping the mod compatible with other mods is more important to me, than these minor annoyances.

Just for info:
Seems to still work fine with 2.8.3.1.
Admittedly coudln't be bothered currently to check files, but it works in game for me, so...
I will look at them at some point.

I expect the next major patch for the expansion Holy Fury to most likely require an update to the mod.

As always, if you find any issues, other than aforementioned (required) compromises, don't hold back.

Updated compatibility for 3.01

In the standard post as usual:
https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...-ckii-ui-font-mod.712799/page-2#post-18225248

There were quite some changes in fonts.gfx in 3.01 which crashed my game, while patch 3.0 had still
been compatible with the mod version for 2.7.

All in all though just deleting some parts and adding new.
I hope and think i did everything correctly.
At least it runs again.

@Everyone

Shall i make a Workshop variant ?

Morinn, the original author, hasn't been back since december 2015 and didn't reply on my conversations/PMs either,
so i suppose i'm free to mess with it to an extent.

Opinions ?

Well you would reach more people with a workshop variant. If the only thing holding you back is OP might having something against it, I would argue that you changed enough over the years that it's now your mod.

Thanks for the kind words.
I went ahead and after the Workshop didn't cause me troubles uploading the preview picture, i now made it public
on the Workshop. For now only the standard variant: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1589734273

is it possible to have all the writings bigger? like the events

Don't understand, because they are.

edit:
Well...at least that was one of the problems in the past when the event window wasn't big enough.
Hmmm...some event text font types though are indeed set in the eventwindow.gui file and that isn't included in the mod anymore,
as the values of the mod became the same as in the game first of all and second for compatibility with other mod reasons.
*thinking*

Will check if there currently is still a difference or not.

Hello,
Thanks for your work.
Is the mod compatible on Mac OS ? Because it's not modify the font size on my screen. Is there anything special I need to do to ?
Best regards

EDIT: Sorry i am very stupid, I dont have copy all the files in the mod folder...

So i suppose the question is answered then ? It would have been : Should be, as far as i know.
The standard variant of the mod is by the way also on the Steam Workshop.

Wow. You really kept this thing going @Aardvark Bellay. :)

Is this needed nowadays? I have not played the game in years.

Hi there. :)

Nothing changed regarding font type or size or interface, apart from what i mention in the download post, that the eventwindows.gui is not anymore included,
as its values got mostly incorporated by the game and was thus superfluous.

Leaving it out also increased compatibility with other mods, as Bigger Interface and the Deutschkorrektur mods, which had this file as well.

Not sure how the very current way is this works, but i don't know or read of a difference in loading preferences or that you could only add the changed part of
the eventwindows.gui file or anything, as is the case with defines.lua and lots of those files in 'common'.
I'm not fully up to date with that modding area and am neither interested nor knowledgeable enough for that either, i'm afraid.

Notice !

I made a mistake when i uploaded the tooltip mods, so they won't work.
To make the tooltips work, add a dot between 3 and x in the folder name.
So make the folder name look like in this example:
CKII_Tooltip_Font_V22_3.x

I'll do a repupload later, but potentially in days, rather than hours..

Last Update 20th july 2021
Fix for the "Only tooltips" font mod to actually work.

....
"Only tooltips" - (sizes 16,18 and 22 all in one zip) :

Tooltip Fonts
https://mega.nz/file/8ZpkVCgS#x3YT_zUw-a9s5surm1izVHfqRBiWho0eYOCr9FkqXho

Not sure anyone still cares, but i did it anyway.

I finally managed to update the download link for the "Tooltips only" variant, so that this version of the mod actually works again.
In under three months.
Which are about less than 12 weeks, not even 84 days, so...just perfect.
What service.
Brilliant of me.

You're welcome, stranger...
