Tooltip/fontsize is way to huge for me. The font is too fine / thin. Would be Awesome if u take the Font and Size from the EU4 mod:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=329756290&searchtext=

But: Way better then ck2 vanilla!

A major update is out now: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=363159055

I reworked on 3 fonts; Tooltip font is now 1 size smaller, Eventwindow/headline fonts gets bigger. Hope you like it. Feedback is wellcome.

Thank you ! great work so far, i'll try the new version out later, but for my personal preferece, it would be nice to have the same fonts and size from EU4 Better UI 2.2 in CK2. But maybe yours is better.
Dunno what the fonts are, maybe i test your mod with the Better UI 2.2 font and compare it.

update edit (13th jan 15): Set alternative links to Mega.co.nz
update edit: compatible with 2.3

Warning (for the original links to file-upload.net) :
There seem to be security issues sometimes.
What happens: One gets a bad redirection and then gets offered a download.exe (if you allow all scripts; as i use the Firefox addon NoScript i never got any problems.)
DONT' DOWNLOAD ANY EXE FILE: Only the specified 7z files below are appropriate.

Created alternative links to mega.co.nz.

------
Updated for 2.2x
Did a quick Winmerge, moving the new stuff in and it seems to work for me aftre a quick check.
So try this and if there are issues, please report:

"Full":

CKII-UI-Font-Mod--for-patch-2.2-.7z

Alternative link: https://mega.co.nz/#!MQoCjDzI!ENCBZAKBlaOhHfe7WC4g5p7KL_8lfSyuRIXxqwTSDgM

"Only tooltips" (16,18 and 22 all in one zip):

Tooltip-Fonts--for-patch-2.2-.7z

Alternative link: https://mega.co.nz/#!lcoDWApZ!WRHTW9yYIpZ71DNArmeeuapogPuVcIX-L1o_s8uJi-I

Regarding the link (for file-upload.net):
Use the "Download" button in the middle/center (cloud and arrow inside it as a symbol).
The others (if there are any showing, especially if they are huge and an arrow points to it) are only redirects and advertisement.

Posted this, as i'm not sure if Morinn still updates it.

Added alternative download links, if someome is uncomfortable or experinces issues with the original ones on File-upload.net.

Hi, I am using following font pack from DarthMalak as it makes fonts bigger and very clear and it's definitely the best one to use AFAIK (as he basically created bunch fonts' files with bigger fonts instead of changing size of the font).

But I have one problem with this mod - some event messages are now way too big to fit into its box as it can be seen on following screen:

2015-01-14_00002.jpg

Anyone can help me on what I should change/revert in mod files (font.gfx or tooltip.gui?) to change only those messages back to normal (or to somehow make font in it smaller to fit into box?). Thanks.

(I also tried to use Better Readable Font Mod by NarzissOne from workshop and it is good but it is bit smaller and has rather keen edge that don't antialias well for me in 1920x1080)

Checked for compatibility and for my embarrassement i realised i had missed changes to event windows since 2.2. Oops.
Very sorry if you encountered event window size issues when using the mod.

Version for 2.3.2

"Full":

CKII UI Font Mod (for 2.3.2)

CKII_UI_Font_Mod18 (for 2.3.2) (incl. bigger Tooltip (Verdana18) )

"Only tooltips" (16,18 and 22 all in one zip):

Tooltip Fonts (for patch 2.2 + 2.3x)

Posted this, as i'm not sure if Morinn still updates it.

So properly updated this time, changed download host to mega.co.nz and added a version of the full mod with bigger tooltips.

Hi, can you please provide the full mode with Verdena 18?

Finally. Well i said i haven't forgotten your request.

-------

On blurriness, i want to look in to it, but if i get something workable done, then i will offer it as an alternative.

I don't know DartMalaks mod (other than that i d'led it once).
All i know is that one should use the second link in there, which contains the CK2_FontMod0.91.rar file.

I'd rather change the event window sizes.
Use Winmerge and compare the eventwindow.gui file in interface with the current vanilla version. Then copy as you think fit or change the size in the mod and see what happens. :D
You could also assign a different font in there, but i don't know at which part.

DarthMalak version is different from other UI font mods mainly in that it replaces original vic and other fonts with variations of Tahoma font and it need no other messing with game files. I'm already using its latest 0.91 version but it's dated and I guess Paradox changed event windows somehow since then. But other than that one thing it works perfectly fine.

I'm afraid you can't change the size of the boxes as those are nonresizable textures (which is shame, wish there was at least scrollbar for longer messages or something). Yes, you can change size of the textbox that wraps and renders over it but that only results into text flowing out of the given window.
But I manage to find out that by changing instantTextBoxType name = "Description" entries in eventwindow.gui, you can define what font to use for those messages. There are only 6 of them and you only want to change paragraphs with font = "vic_22_black".

I think I need just a bit smaller font and it would be ok. Guess I will follow the guide on modding fonts and try to resize tahoma to best font size. Then I create its new entry in fonts.gfx and replace two relevant vic_22_black 'Long text here!' Description entries in eventwindow.gui (as those governs the text in default event windows) with newly created font.

As a sidenote, I also tried your new UI fontpack (both versions) and it's rather nice to read (better than Better Readable Font Mod as that one has rather thin letters) but there are cases where texts are overflowing out of its boxes and when I am trying to switch bookmarked dates on Custom Game Start, I am almost always getting CTDs when clicking in and out of Charlemagne date (probably because its description entry is the longest).

Hmm...haven't seen that yet, but could be relevant. Was that in event windows ? Could ya post a screenshot ? Vanilla has issues as well, but these are most in tutorial windows.
The bookmark switch CTD is a fresh, sunny and new vanilla bug, yeah. Happens when you go back in time if i remember correctly. I will check that anyway.
Thanks

Ok, I didn't know those CTDs were caused by latest patch, sorry, my bad. Tutorial event windows were fine I think. But here are some screens of text that didn't fit into boxes with your 2.3.2 mod (all DLCs activated, I disabled all other mods, just in case):

http://i.imgur.com/YDnd8Se.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/jVzRO71.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/Z895auD.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/KUUR9qR.jpg

I think those are pretty minor things after all, it's mostly in menu and on hints. I guess my main issue with your mod is that those fonts on tootips are rather blurry to read, i dunno, like they were antialiased way too much.
Are you using font smoothing or clear type, by any chance?

Thanks. Just to be sure, you used the new updated version for 2.3.2, right ?
As earlier i had somehow missed a few lines in vanilla eventwindow.gui. So with the earlier version there should have been a higher chance for this to occur.

edit: The tip windows are already crappy in vanilla, meaning the text overflow in the hints are already there without the mod.
I don't have CM and in all other bookmarks the text is fine more or less, as it seems after i had a quick look.
edit: Scrap the last sentence, its the same in my bookmarks. The text doesn't overlap though and well i don't know how to change it anyway.

Regarding the blurriness of the tooltip over the left info, yeah there were earlier reports about it, but it looks better in my opinion, than a fat font (compare to Better UI Font Mod on workshop)

I might try to offer an alternative, but if anyone else could simply (for everyon who knows how-to) do a bold/fat font version in the same size,
it would probably happen much faster  and then i would offer it along the original.

I actually do, yes.
Just mentioning it, the font itself is still the same as done by the original author in the OP of this thread (Morinn).
I only kept it compatible, didn't mess around with font files.

sorry to bugger you, but i can't seem to get it going, nor is automatically selected... previous version works btw

Thanks, i'll check and report back.
Might be i uploaded a bad version.

Both the folder and mod file contained a space in their names at different spots.
Sorry for the accident and thanks for reporting. :)

Should work now..unless i'm completely braindead, which isn't unlikely.

Great .... and now i had to reupload full18 as there was another space in the name of the mod file which prevented it staying selected.

Well,....i'm half-braindead i suppose. Good Compromise.:D

Game (v2.3.3) is crashing when I try to start a game with the latest version of UI Font Mod. Can anyone confirm this?

EDIT: It's only crashing in the tutorial scenario. A regular game has no issue. Works fine. Thanks.

Interesting.
As far as i know that was never mentioned.
By the way, the files didn't change since the last patch, so yup, still compatible.

Hello everybody.

Really glad Aardvark continued with the mod and that it has proven useful to all of you.

Unfortunately I'm not playing CKII at the momento so I don't have the chance to try the new adjustments.

Something else I wanted to request after seeing the mod posted in other sites: if anybody repost this in any other forum or game community (like Steam for example) don't forget to give credit where credit is due, not just to me but for anybody taking the time and effort of tweaking and updating the mod for the enjoyment of others.

Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and see how the community was doing.

See you real 'soon'.

.....

I already responed to your PM, but forgot to mention that i, as it says in my download post, didn't change the font or size or whatnot and merely added things to keep
it compatible. So basically a Winmerge job.
I only added the full mod with a bigger font size for the tooltips as an additional download.
Cheers
