That would be the absolute minimum that might work. If you still have blank portraits, then look at interface/portraits.gfx (despite extension, it's an ordinary text file) for definitions of the graphical cultures. There'll be 3 sets (young, middle-aged and old) for each gender in each graphical culture.

I've done it. Thanks for the help guys! All I had to is add the new CK2+ cultures into the Steppe Faces culture.txt file and change the graphical culture types on the new Altaic cultures. If anyone wants the file, I'll try to figure out how to upload it.

How does this mod handle different ethnicities marrying and producing children? I'm just curious since the faces are custom made. If a Mongol DLC faced character has a child with a European character, then usually the child looks like a kind of Cuman type character, so if Cumans with these faces had a child with a European or an African (using the African faces DLC) would the face look like a mix?

CK2 graphical cultures don't support mixed ethnicities.

Indeed, hence results like this:

If you have a couple who are of different colors/cultures, the game seems to randomly select a child's ethnicity from either of its parents. You can't have mixed race children.

They do, just not very realistically. If a European and an African have a child in game, then the child will have a sort of Middle Eastern appearance. If a European and a Mongol have a child in-game, then that character usually grows up to have a Cuman appearance.

I use the Prince and the Thane, which uses the BLC mod, so there are much more ethnicities present, but I have definately seen the Golden Horde conquer Denmark, breed with Danish women, and their heirs come out looking like Cumans.

I would like to see some screenshots, because the game will only pick between the ethnicities of the parents. There is no mixing of pieces. They don't even line up, and the files for displaying them are entirely separate.

It sounds like Western Clothes on Mongol skins. I believe that clothes swapping is possible in-game since SoI, but I pretty much stepped away from the game during these last few months of exams, so I haven't seen it.

Hey Crackd!! Thanks for your beautiful works!! Your works are stunning! I hope your exams are going well!!

Thanks! And I hope they are going well. US tax law is very complicated, so I won't know until mid-week how well I'm doing.

Terrific work, I'm feeling very affectionate towards my Nestorian Pechenegs who now look awesome!

*sneaks a bottle of vodka on Crack's table (all import taxes properly paid of course)*
Psst. Any chance of Slavic faces&clothes next?

Amazing work, when my internet stops acting up and refusing to open websites I will try to download the mod!

There are mixed graphical cultures when characters of Africangfx have children with westerngfx. In this case children are either of africangfx or something middle eastern with darker sin colour.
Using this mod mixing afrcangfx and westerngfx can lead to the turkic/steppe faces children - which is kind of weird

Well that's terrible. I'm putting it on Dropbox and getting it ready for hosting as we speak. *cue five minutes*

See if this works for you.
Do note that Dropbox isn't meant for file-hosting, and links will be disabled after a certain bandwidth limit is reached.
I'd recommend attaching it to the OP on this forum, that's what I do for my mod.

Depends on how big it is; bigger mods exceed the attachment storage limit for the forums, and graphics mods tend to be rather big.

True that; the forum gives 10 MB.

Temporary solution I ad-hoc'd at work. I'm looking at a workaround right now, but that 10mb limit is too small in the long-run. This mod is 6mb right now, and that comes out to about 3mb for the base, and an additional 1mb or so per culture combo (if no new skins are added).

I'd like to find some hosting that would let me track the analytics of my downloads, but also wouldn't be some kind of rapidshare clone (replete with ads and malware, etc.).

Then your choices are probably paid hosting (free hosting without ads is a no-go, they have to pay their bills somehow) or host it yourself, if you have a permanent internet connection and a machine you can dedicate to it... unless some other modder has hosting storage they can share. (I have some courtesy of my phone/internet package, but am already hosting 2 large mods and have sometimes hit disk quota.)
