What can i say? that sucks dude. I just wanted to share some things i've played and watched recently and really loved to death. I died 600 times
in Ori and the blind forest, and i loved every second of it.
Been following this mod for years, and there still isn't really a release date ( other than "soon", but it has been soon for a loooooong time ) so i'd figure i'd suggest some fun things you can do to pass the time.
Do you like books? Anime? Netflix series? games? manga? movies? SCP? Warhammer?
I love everything, and i'm sure i can think of stuff you will enjoy
No, sorry I didn't mean to come off as being offended. Don't worry about it, I just need some busy work.
I'll be fine.

So demons aren't playable, but would you like to play an otherworldly abomination? If so, you're in luck:

Beholders are an iconic D&D race of horrible eyeball monsters from outer space (and in the next version they'll probably still get some inappropriate events, but we'll get to those eventually). Until now, they existed in some of the support files for the mod, and one of the loading images, but couldn't be played. That's all changed now!

Observant readers will notice the date here, and yes, the Ring of Eyes isn't currently playable in our public start dates. But there are at least three count-tier beholder vassals who are playable in the core start dates. Where are they? Players who know their Realmslore will know where to find them...

In other news, the history of the North now includes the brief flourishing of a dwarf-led duchy whose name will be familiar to anyone who's played the D&D5e Starter Set, the Triple Kingdom of Phalorm's high point is even higher, and the Kingdom of Man got a bit more historical colour. And in more substantial news for players, we're debugging the class system.

The only thing I got out of this is beholder waifu.

On a serious note the images really do have the white pixels around them that hasn't been cleaned up yet. I'd imagine that's on to do for later?

Yes - I'm no artist, so sourcing enough images to show the diversity of beholders from canon sources was an effort in itself. I'll clean up those white pixels sooner or later, but it might not be before the next release.

Will mind flayers be a playable race?
Yes, they're in. Like the beholders and dragons, they're not going to be terribly fleshed out in this release, but they're there and we're planning to build on them.
@neutrondecay I've experience with photoshop. If you'd rather work on more top priority parts of the mod, I'll be happy to clean up any images.

Thank you! Please come along to the Discord and join us.

Every Beholder is supposedly unique, so it is one of those things you will never get close to canon anyway, Wizard's of the Coast's artists don't do it themselves either. Being able to get some beholderkin like the Spectator or Gauth would be cool, maybe include a Death Tyrant for us, sacks of bones, but wouldn't it be better as a post release thing? Ironing now the basics so you can play with them afterwards instead of taking the titanic task of trying to get a billion things now?

The screens look great but I'm still having a hard time to picture the scope...I am not sure if the Sea of Falling Stars looks way too small or you extended the map all the way to the Steppe almost reaching Shou Lung and that is why it seems small (same with Chult).

It definitely looks a lot bigger in their worldmap than in the minimap there (but I've noticed the scale in the map itself is sort of correct)...It is weird because the map in the first page looks a lot closer in scale, but again, it may be that I am not used to see that ammount of land east of Thesk.

It's great seeing the Azure Bonds' guys there. Brings back good memories.

The class choices are great, in the future you can split Cleric too, like you did with rogue, into Domains by deity, so it doesn't turn into a massive mess, since they are broken as hell (Images of Fire/War Cleric using full plate, an axe and casting fireball quickly sting me in the back of my brain) and is one of the most versatile classes on the system. I'm really amped for this.

I cut the map you posted for what is roughly our current scope:
faerun.PNG

It includes between 1/4 and 1/3 of Shou Lung's territory and all of Tabot in the eastern end of the map, for reference, as wall as the entire Hordelands.

Clerics and warlocks will eventually get extra detail through patron choices rather than extra classes. The split of rogue into rogue, assassin and shadow was to reflect the variety of rogue-type classes across the different editions and provide some stuff of specific interest to CK2 characters and their councillors.

Hmmm OK I think I'm starting to get an idea, you stop at the borders with Zakhara (Stragadha, Treggi, Konigheim, and Nix) and Shou Lung (Roughly Quoya desert). It's Massive . Will you add the option of having reduced maps like the Warhammer Mod does? I don't think my laptop will be able to handle that many characters without massive lag u^^.

That is a great idea, you can even add a quest chain for Patron choice. Brilliant.

Qudra and Kuo Melian are both on the map.

It runs pretty damn well, actually.

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to ask if Zarathustra was still a member of the squad? I just read back the forum and get really interested in the class modding plans he laid out previously.

Zarathustra has unfortunately been gone for a while now. A shame because his knowledge of code was unparalleled.
