First of all not sure if this is the right place if it isnt I apologize but recently I installed a steam mod and it bugged out now it is saying that it is installed despite the fact I have uninstalled everything. I have no idea what to do or how to fix it, I even tried installing it again but it just shows up as a new mod and the bugged one is still there... I looked around and tried a few fixes I found like deleting mod folder and mod registry json file but it still shows up as installed.

Please try the following:

- unsubscribe from all mods in BOTH the Steam Workshop and the Paradox mod site mods.paradoxplaza.com
- delete the folder Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mod/
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/mods_registry.json (if present)
- delete the file Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/launcher-v2.sqlite (if present)
- run the game up and check the launcher is okay with no mod or other errors
- subscribe to a few mods

- run the game up and see if those mods are now available to you.

I hope that does it for you!

Does Paradox understand what an absolute pain this is? Having to Unsubscribe from all mods then going back and finding them all again to re-subscribe is such a royal pain. Will this issue ever be corrected or a simpler workaround be implemneted?

That process should only need to be done once. Are you seeing otherwise?

There is a new launcher 2022.1 out today - did that trigger the need to do it again?

Hi Andrew,

Just FYI, the latest update caused this issue again. Although with this launcher update another error popped up. The, could not fetch metadata" one.
The launcher has not been updated again, 2022.1 is still the current version. Nor has this game. So I'm not sure what update you are referring to here? A mod perhaps?

I'm assuming mine did not update the last time. So when I responded before I must have been on the previous version. Today when I launched the game it prompted the update. Now showing 2022.1. I apologize for any confusion.

Is there any option/way to backup things before updating the launcher to prevent this from happening in the future?

Actually relooking at it, my most recent playset actually had all the mods removed from it. Is it possible to at least back this up so it can be referenced for load order in the future?

I don't understand how it took over 10 days for the launcher to update for you ...

To answer your question, you could try backing up the game_data.json and launcher-v2.sqlite files - I'm pretty sure the order is held in one of those.

Thanks. Will give it a try.

Not sure on the launcher update delay either.
