Apologies if this is actually against forum rules, but I didn't really register any rule specifically banning this sort of thread.

So, I was reading this work of alternate history and it came to me that it would be good practice for me as a modder to try and just make a bookmark mod (e.g., one that is well, entirely a bookmark). I originally wanted to make the Theodoric bookmark, but I don't know whether to make him Orthodox (and crypto-Arian) or openly Arian.

Then it came to me that I have absolutely no idea on how to mod something as complex as a new religion into the game. AND I have no idea what set of in-game mechanics could best simulate the 6th-century "Arian Church". So, I leave this idea to more experienced modders who want to make something small but probably still interesting enough.

If you want to give yourself a challenge, then maybe you could create special diplomatic recognition interactions. It's kind of thing ITTL (in this timeline).

Append: Interesting time-points in this timeline

Theoderic's ITTL great-grandson, Theodemir II (his father, the OTL King of the Goths Athalaric I, is Theoderic's grandson through Theoderic's daughter Amalasuntha), destroys the titular kingdoms of the Visigoths, Ostrogoths and Burgundians, circa 590.

In a series of events starting in 627, Emperor of the Goths Witteric I kills the young King of the Goths and Romans, reunites the Goths, then defeats the Romans in 635 and forces them to acknowledge him as an equal, like how the Roman Emperor recognizes the Iranian Shahanshah as his equal. Gunthamund, ruling in Carthage, declares himself Emperor of the Vandals in a bid to break from the Gothic Empire.

Come nearly one and a half centuries later, the Empire of the Goths has splintered into de facto independent states and even lost Carthage to the Islamic Imamate. Not Caliphate, yes, ITTL the evolution of Islam went sort of different from OTL. Emperor of the Goths Teias I would die before completing the reconquest.

I would look into asking the When The World Stopped Making Sense guys, if you can reuse their code. They have already done all the work, such as adding in the arian religion with some flavour, etc. just for OT.
