So this mod is a work-in-progress overhaul of many things that I felt were weird in the game. The list below is simply a rough summary. Going to the mod page linked above will give you more details but for those who are lazy and/or don't use Steam, here's the rough list:

-Growth is changed to only use the pop assembly mechanic since it has more flexible modifiers so stuff like migration unfortunately won't work. Growth is also scaled by local food production (and unfortunately, all pops will have to use food as upkeep). Colony ships are built in planets and take away a pop from the planet. Resettlement and the slave market is removed because they can exploit this mechanic but I feel like they're not great mechanics in the first place so it's probably fine. Note that unemployment in this mod is made to be okay in this mod so don't worry too much about it.
-Local alloy production determines how fast you build things. Planetary production takes an extremely long time without local alloy production.
-Upon conquering a planet that isn't originally yours, half of the pops in there will move to a random planet that belongs to the planet's original owner, if they still exist.
-You can unlock tradition-unique Wonder buildings after completing a tradition tree. Everyone can build them but if a planet builds it first, its owner gets a big bonus.
-There is a Science Victory, a Diplomatic Victory, and a somewhat different Domination Victory. Adding a Unity-related victory is planned.

And here's a little teaser from the workshop page about the Science Victory:
