Since 1.5.* - I've personally felt that disloyalty occurs a bit too much for both the AI and the player. While I still think that the loyalty mechanics are interesting and worthy of gameplay, I think they shouldn't have such a strong impact.

Difficulty Settings
Changes have been made to game difficulty settings as well, so that you can sortof balance it for yourself:

Very Easy
Player character base loyalty: 100
AI character base loyalty: 75

Easy
Player character base loyalty: 90
AI character base loyalty: 75

Normal
Both Player and AI base loyalty : 75

Hard
Player character base loyalty: 75
AI character base loyalty: 90

Very Hard
Player character base loyalty: 75
AI character base loyalty: 100

The base character loyalty for AI and player is default at 75 instead of 50. This allows for the game mechanics around loyalty to still be relavant, but to be less punishing.

RNG Events
The RNG mechanics which are events that occur to any empire which can have negative effects to character loyalty still occur, but loyalty is not reduced as much as before. Events that would reduce a character's loyalty by 100 now reduce by 75, events that used to reduce loyalty by 75 now reduce by 50, and, 50 became 25, 25 became 15, 15 became 10, and 10 became 5. Events that reduced loyalty by 5 still reduce by 5.

Well done!

I personally like the current loyalty system and all the micromanaging it requires, though that's mostly because I prefer slow-paced, micro-intensive campaigns and I can understand that this could be too much for those who play faster-paced campaigns. Those will surely benefit from this mod.

Thanks, it's still very much "new" so I plan on making changes based on feedback.

Personally, when trying this mod in "very easy" - I found the game to become boring so I can see where you are coming from. I dont know if even adding a base loyalty is the right way to go.

I was also considering keeping the base loyalty at 50 and adding a new modifier that is something like "first impression" that adds +25 that decays and would only be added to new characters. but maybe not all new characters, only ones that make sense.

Another idea I had was keeping loyalty at 50 but adding a new modifier that is only at the start of the game that adds +25 to all characters in all countries that decays by 1 a year, basically allowing for everyone to have a "strong start"

Just thoughts I've had about it. I definitely think that without a loyalty system at all the game would be quite boring. I didn't realize that until a 150 years into playing on "very easy" and having loyalty base at 100 xD

I also thought that maybe adding a "loyalty customizer" menu that comes up at the beginning of the game and allows players for fine-tuned control over how the base loyalty works.
