1. The Idea

T
his mod aims to add several new features to Stellaris. Namely a new world type, a new ship type, a new crisis, with a handful of new technology and special project/research.

The universe will now be inhabited with world known as Forge worlds. These are worlds long since abandoned, worlds that are very rich in minerals and energy but with extremely low habitability. This is due to ancient races working the worlds to extinction. Synthetics can be produced at a speed bonus on these worlds and all living creatures receive an unhappiness bonus on a tile adjacent to a synthetic. Species on the planet have a chance of developing a trait which will reduce their lifespan. These worlds have been heavily polluted, to the extent they are beyond repair of the atmosphere.

Once any world has been occupied the player is given a special opportunity in the situation log. They can begin to research the Ancient Metals, Ancient Transport Terminals or the Ancient Shielding technology. Each completion will give between 15 and 30% towards completion of that technology. Upon completion the player will unlock Promethian Hull, Promethian Thrusters and Promethian Shields. These are slightly enhanced version of the current maximum shields yet only requiring 70% of the power.

Each time the player researches a part of a technology they increase the risk of the crisis chain triggering by 5% ( This will change I'd say to balance) However following any of these research paths can incur the wrath of Fallen Empires.

2. The crisis!

A forge world is an ancient world sized factory. Beneath this factory lies great ships of destruction. These ships are far beyond the power of any existing ships, are equipped with Promethian equipment, including a new weapon type known as a Promethian Lance. The ships in the game will hopefully be upto 5X the size of any normal player ship, and a large and dangerous fleet will spawn Starting with the first forge world occupied in the universe, with a chance of another forge world defense being activated every month. Only one fleet may spawn per forge world. These fleets will not leave the system they spawn into with the exception of the following.

-> I would ideally like to have them move towards the nearest source of their technology ( your spaceports and fleets if you've used the new technology! )

-> You can research debris of these fleets to get 40% of the way to unlocking the Promethian Lance.

-> These fleets do not capture planets, they destroy them. They have a 40% chance of killing a population/building per month and will not leave a planet unless destroyed or all have been eliminated. When they cant find a target they will return to their forge world of orgin and become dormant.

-> The faction can not be negotiated with. They are not AI however for the purposes of an AI uprising crisis and will attack any and all factions who use their technology or are in their system.

A new situation chain will arise when they spawn, this chain of events works towards finding the Promethean shutdown code. It will take about a year of ingame time of constantly following the chain to complete. Upon which cause a new Aura can be built for a battleship known as Promethian Virus which will give a severe fire rate penalty to Promethian Fleets. The First forge world to produce its defense fleet will spawn a Supreme Promethian, this is like the "mothership". If this is defeated and researched a player must make a choice.

A Popup of an artificial intelligence will present itself. You may either Destroy all Promethean Fleets, Destroy all Promethean fleets outside friendly territory. ALternatively if you are a xenophobe you may destroy all fleets in the galaxy including your own or a xenophile option which allows you to control the remaining fleets. Each carries their own penalties and benefits.

3. What do I need ?

1. I would really appreciate some feedback about my idea as I've other little bits i had in mind to edit.
2. If there are any good programmers familiar with the Stellaris modding system let me know, would love to have you on board and can even offer some monetary compensation. My background is in Java so hopefully I can catch on quickly!
3. Someone maybe familiar with 3d/2d art, I can modify existing and open source assets to get things working but who wants that? Damnit we deserve something nice!

Hope this post finds you all well!
