Okay, I will be following this mod closely. I enjoy the this period of history.
Random musing: Now if only I could find a mod taking place in the pre-Bronze Age Collapse period, my collection of best timeline altering mods will be complete!

There is such mod in development. Look at Dawn of the Civilization mod for CK2 :)

please please dont let it die

Can you switch it so egyptians use the new levantine ethncity instead of the african One?

Looks amazing! Keep up the great work.

Thanks Chef Boyardee, I'm happy to say the Mod's definitely not dead Hr Schr, been working away silently for awhile now. Zimad01 I finished up my latest revision on the Egyptians about a month ago...spot on ;) here's a little preview.

They're not perfect, but I revamped them once the updated levantine portraits became available. The Kushites & Nubians/Blemmyes are not as complete and are using older assets but I'll finish them up shortly. The Scythians are almost 100% complete portrait-wise and I'll show them off next.

If anyone has any feedback on what to do with the "roman"/italian portraits let me know...I find them terribly ugly and have been thinking of just using the Iberian/south european portrait set instead for the actual faces/skins...any other suggestions?

-Note I'll post a brief update with this material & a more detailed Dev Diary as well on the moddb site for Pharaohs & Consuls this weekend.

Those new portraits look great! I would suggest you use a mix of the south slav portraits for the darkness/mediterraneanness of Italians and parts of the French portraits since the Italic cultures and Celtic cultures/languages are related or at least interacted more than they did with other groups.

This is Really GREAT!

You are still wondering for feedback about the Roman portraits?
Well, I think you should use a greek portrait for italo-indoeuropeans (not only for Romans, though Romans should use the traditional roman clothing. As for other indo-european italic people, I would suggest greek portraits but with celtic clothes)

Yes, thanks Manble, just in the middle of reworking the Roman, Latin and Italic/Etruscan portraits now as well. So far it looks like the vanilla greeks with beard/hair changes look pretty good so far so thanks for the idea! :) I will likely use the southerngfx for the etruscans or perhaps modified more heavily for southern celts/gauls

Sounds great! I've been thinking about this mod a lot lately, but I can't remember if you posted any Persian or Nomad portraits. Is it just me being forgetful or do the examples not exist?

Hmm if I did post persians or saka it would have been a long while back, finished my Scythians/Sarmatians recently and will preview them in the near future, I'll try and post some previews here soon but I'm working on a presentable update which also includes my UI-overhaul and map additions so it is pretty much a different and much larger mod then the original alpha build I posted over a year ago.

I'm also going to release a Dev Diary on the Persians as I've focused on them a lot as the mod covers the rise and fall of the Persian empire, and I could swear I've added in every historical member of the Achaemenid line and a huge number of persian nobility/royalty from that period into the game so far...but I'll share more on that soon ;)

Suggestion: Give the possibility in the game rules to spawn a great greek conqueror(when the Hellenistic period start) if the startdate choosed is set before the date that Alexander the Great was born, like the turkic conquerors option in the game rules in vanilla.

I agree with you on this and I have it somewhat already implemented in the form of a "historical influence" rule so that Cyrus the great, Alexander, and other famous historical figures/events will occur or not...so I guess you could call it a "historical mode" ruleset basically, which if you are playing on one of the earlier startdates (such as 653 BC) it is pretty important if you want to see the Medes/Babylonians team up on the Assyrians, the Achaemenids form the persian empire, Alexander the great invade Persia etc
