I've played a good bit of this mod and read all that you guys have planned. I have to admit it, this will definitely be my favorite mod when you guys have this done. Seriously, you guys are doing a really good job so don't ever lose heart or give up on this.
still not working.. May be a localization issue? It loads with POD screen but opens up as a normal vanilla game.
Only regular characters are on map. you can customize a character and choose vampire/mage/ etc but it shows as masquerade_vampire_(something else) and there are all normal start dates with a dark age one added in but shows as DW_dark_ages_122 or something like that. I did delete older install. i do have 2.2.1 version. not sure whats wrong.

It would seem that in Masquerade (at least in the last scenario) the Blood Potency isn't really connected to the Generation? Mithras' Childe (made by me playing him) is gen 5, yet has Blood Potency 1... I am also wondering why would Mithras have Cruac...
OTOH, I like that in 1.7.2 (or is it just that I'm playing the Convocation of Thorns scenario whereas I played earlier ones before?) the armies are smaller and the petty counties seem to have much less people from the wrong WoD.
What are your plans about the regions that are not really described in the books (such as almost whole of nWoD and some parts of sWoD)? Do you have setting ideas already, or do you need research/creative input?
I'm gonna make a suggestion that you guys can take or leave. Split the mod into two downloads - one for the base mod + nWoD canon, and one that, when toggled, will replace the nWoD-only stuff with the classic canon. You wouldn't have to do everything twice, AFAIK - the "Classic WoD" mod could simply be set to overwrite portions of the base nWoD version, like traits. This way, rather than maintaining two distinct histories in one set of files, you could simply have the histories overwritten when you check the "Classic" modmod.
This will do two things for you:
1.) Keep things from getting broken, in game. Ruler designer would become much less confusing, and you all, as devs, wouldn't have to worry about random nonsense from one canon popping up in the other game.
2.) Keep things clean and separate, in code. In addition to history and landed titles files, etc, you'd have an easier time writing events and mechanics if you didn't have to worry that they would trigger the wrong-canon results.
The best part is, any general improvements/changes you make will be available in both mods, since the whole base would be used by both. Until you can use sub-folders in events and decisions, that'll involve a little bit of copy-paste, but in everything else, from common to graphics, you'll be all set.
No. It'll have to be updated for that. I will try to get to that this weekend unless NightAvail beats me too it.
As to splitting the NWOD and OWOD into two separate mods, it would take more work to split them than it would to fix the small bits of NWOD that are in the OWOD bookmarks.

I haven't had a chance to look into the issues caused by the newest DLC. WOL is definitely an interesting update and changes the interface quite a bit!
I may have found the hold up (after having altered interface files and defines.lua). It appears to be in the history folder, probably one of the titles. Bad news is I've edited 1,894 of those files. Yep.
Validator is helping. I added blanks for several new cultures from Charlemange onwards. This eliminated some duplicate characters. However, there are a lot of new titles that have full histories invoking characters that don't exist. I may need to clean the slate on characters. This may be simple with Kingdoms Abound. If not, it may take awhile.
However, if memory serves, it takes a variable numbdr of years between you take the decision and you get the upgraded trait, where you are supposed to be learning it.
@flint I'd consider creating a character modifier that is given at the beginning and removed at the end of the training, to remind the player of that
well i kinda tried to cheat ,giving myself prestige and pressing lots of discipline, so didnt have any immediate effects, gonna play some more tomorrow to see if i will get them later in game.my ck is 2.2.1
I'm glad to hear that the mod is still working with CK 2.2.1.
The WOL 2.3 patch seems to be causing far more headaches than the 2.2.2 or the 2.2.1 patches.
Since I'm having title and character issues, I'm considering redoing the entire /history folder from scratch. Princes of Darkness /history development has been kind of haphazard. I added things rapidly over time and the are a lot of inconsistencies in the provinces files. Starting from scratch will let me use the same template for every file, which will make batch editing easier. Batch editing is the best way to tackle the thousands of files, but to do that well, it helps if there are standard template in the files. So, I can do things like load all files with culture = "Romanian" replace "Catholic" with "Koldun"; or load half of the files with culture = "german" and then for 1142.1.1 replace "lancea_sanctum" with "invictus".
I've been planning to do this for awhile, but I wanted to be able to incorporate the culture changes of WTWSMS 480 mod. Now, that's out. However, looking at the files, they don't have a clear transition between say "Roman" to "Italian". I'll want to merge their files with the existing vanilla files. That'll also require adding some dates.
Something else I've been considering is changing the year counting. Right now, we are limited to starting at 1AD and no character can be older than 1AD, which doesn't work so well for the classic World of Darkness. I think I'm going to go with ab urbe condita (AUC) “from the founding of the city (Rome)”
Considered year calendars:
1 AUC = 753 BC
1 Anno Mundi (AM) = 3761 BC (Hebrew Calendar)
1 Hijra (AH) = 622 AD (Islamic Calendar)
Since Emperor Claudius (41-54 AD) onwards, Varro's calculation was used for AUC.
Maimonides established Anno Mundi calendar in 1178 CE.
The Anno Domini dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus.
Hijra or "AH" for the Latin anno Hegirae. Years begin with the date Muhammad entered into Medina (622 AD). The Hijra number of years was created by Abu Musa Ashaari in 638 AD.
The sack of Carthage is a well dated historical event and prominent in CWOD lore of the defeat of the Brujah-Baali “third city” an alliance of Ventrue, Malkavian, Toreador and Lasombra. AUC dates would also be most familiar to CWOD Inconnu, as well as later NWOD Camarilla/Sennex, the early NWOD Lancea et Sanctum, then NWOD Invictus.
While the Anno Mundi calendar might give us dates relevant to the embrace of Caine, the Antediluvians (by dating the Flood), all these events are shrouded in mystery and not suitable for the grand strategy game of CK2. It is also the most recent of the year dating systems discussed and likely to be the least familiar to vampires. The actual Antediluvians won't appear in play, so I don't think their ages are all that relevant.
The Hijra dates starting at 622 AD are long after the Fall of the Camarilla, and thus aren’t suitable for many of the early bookmarks for World of Darkness. It would also be an unknown date to all but cWOD Ashirra and nWOD Al-Amin and Banu Shaitan.
Decision: AUC dates will be used.
By starting the clock at 1 AUC (753 BCE) we loose access to the following events:
CWOD dates
5002 BCE Set born
5000 BCE Baba Yaga embraced
4000 BCE-2800 BCE Thanatoic and Ecstatic cults in India. Akashic Brotherhood froms in China/Tibet
2800 BCE-1100 BCE Golden Age of Greek Magic
2000 BCE Wu Lung form
1880 BCE Silent Striders driven from Egypt by Set’s Curse
1856 BCE Black Furies destroy Sodom and Gomorrah
1523 BCE first artificial creation ; HIT Mark I.
1500 BCE Second Baali War
1480 BCDE-1489BCE: The Arficers emerge from the Reed of Thoth
1250 BCE: Trojan War. Black Furies take over Athens for a century.
1200 BCE: Fianna battle in the Fomorian wars in the British Isles.
1000 BCE: Handura, Idran and other proto-Chakravanti cults evolve.
965 BCE-300 BCE Himalayan wars between Akashic missionaries and Hindu magi.
950 BCE: archmagus Solomon, King of Israel. Unabridged books later form the basis of the Order of Hermes
945 BCE-930 BCE The 10,000 Djinni Plague. Alliance of mages beat them back (Reed, Cupbearers)
850 BCE: Idran become the Nagaraja 800 BCE War of Silver and Iron between Garou and Fae in Ireland. Though we can have the War of Silver and Iron extending past 1 AUC.
NWOD
We don't lose much in the way of canon events. The NWOD history starts with the foundation of Rome. There is some vague myths about the Strix and discussion that progenitors of the Circle of the Crone must have existed, but we don't lose any canon.
Now, what do we gain by having a 1 AUC start date over 1 AD:
CWOD
672 BCE-525 BCE: Black Furies in Khem (Egypt)
560 BCE Pythagoras of Samos travels to Egypt, cult of Thoth in decline
550 BCE Cyrus the Great establishes Persian Empire
545 BCE Cult of Hermes flourishes.
500 BCE Achaemenid Empire. Taftani are hailed as great mystics.
444 BCE Vedavati unite death thanatoic sects into Chakravanti. 400 BCE Split between Acousmatic and Mathmatic factions sparks War of Hermes. It lasts until 100 BCE. (354 AUC)
300 BCE Himalayan wars end. (454 AUC) 264 BCE First Punic War. Ventrue-Toreador-Malkavian-Lasombra Roman Alliance fight Brujah-Baali Carthage. (490 AUC)
160 BCE-100 BCE Burning Tiger War. Akashics, Wu LUng and Dalou’laoshi (technocracy) fight each other (594 AUC)
150 BCE Roman Cult of Mercury at its height
146 BCE Ventrue-Toreador-Malkavian-Lasombra Roman Alliance destroys Brujah-Baali Carthage. (608 AUC)
100 BCE War of Hermes ends. (654 AUC)
100? BCE: Cappadocians seize Eciyes/Argaeus from a Malkavian cult (654? AUC)
Rome is also central to Stygia, the primary narrative empire in Wraith: the Oblivion.
NWOD
753 BCE Rome founded. Requiem for Rome campaign with 753 years before Longinus becomes a vampire. Julius Sennex rules as a King.
326 BCE Mage the Awakening is going to have an Alexandrian setting in India for the future Dark Eras release. We can request from Diadochi Kings permission to use their province cultural information. This would take a bit more effort because they have a different map and different province numbers/names.
320 BCE Julius Sennex disappears. Rome will be ruled as a Republic of Julii through the Sennex.
Starting the Kingdoms Abound titular generator at 30 AUC or so will also allow for there to be pre-generated random characters at the map chooser at the start of play.
So here is what I'm suggesting for Bookmarks in AUC
