While it's great to hear that Wraiths and Werewolves will be fleshed out next, is there any timetable for Hunter content? I just had the Shadow Inquisition fire up in my game not long ago, but these guys seem to lack any new features beyond the Shadow Inquisition religion & the Hunter trait.

Right now, Shadow Inquisition has their custom religion, their "dynasties" (Murnau, Cross of Acre, Red Order, Sisters of St. John, Oculi Dei), Hunter mercenary companies with the same names and symbols as the dynasties, they currently reproduce by breeding, and have a custom Coat of Arms pattern palette:

What would you like to see next for them?
  • Hunter unit model
  • Hunter retinue
  • Hunter specific buildings
  • Hunter specific bookmark ("Rise of the Inquisition")
  • Hunter powers: Shadow Inquisition Endowments & Blessings, Hunter:the Vigil Edges
  • Hunter specific narrative events from a hunter perspective
  • Hunter canon characters
  • Hunter system of apprenticeship (to replace breeding the supehunter trait)
  • Hunter specific artifacts
  • Stronger Shadow Inquisition adventurer spawns
  • Hunter specific plots for hunting supernaturals
  • Hunter bounty/trophy system to track supernaturals killed
  • Hunter specific societies
Some of these things maybe will have to wait till after Holy Fury.

Do you like these ideas? Do you have others?

That would be what I'd love to see. With specific plots and apprenticeship being the foremost.

I'd love to see pretty much everything in that list, that'd be amazing. But certainly Hunter powers, an apprenticeship system, plots and retinues/buildings would be great to see in the short term - really, just about anything that makes them feel more unique & more of a threat to vampires (or any other supernatural force in the setting), as right now they feel like fairly minor nuisances, not a serious danger that should force the entirety of Caine's brood to go underground and adopt the Masquerade.

I've noticed that the other Hunter Conspiracies are already present in the mod's code as additional Hunter religions: perhaps the ones that existed in the Middle Ages could appear as alternatives to or reinforcements for the Shadow Inquisition? The Knights of Saint George could appear as a Shadow Inquisition holy order and/or society, for example, since the Reformation and thus the English church's split from Rome hasn't happened yet, while the Lucifuge and Aegis Kai Doru could present alternative religions/societies for prospective Hunters to align themselves with.

This is a good and somewhat easy to implement idea. HOWEVER, there will also be folks outraged that we got Vigil in their Reckoning, and Chocolate in their Peanut Butter.

If we stick with canon classical World of Darkness, we could add:

Haha, fair enough. If I recall correctly the Sanbenito and Children of Lazarus don't yet exist in the Middle Ages, but the rest seem perfectly suited to being Shadow Inquisition societies/additional holy orders. It'd be nice to have the others around as SI heresies/regional equivalents, I find it strange that devout Muslim or Orthodox hunters of the Middle Ages would team up with the Catholic Church's Inquisition they're at bitter odds with even if it is to fight supernatural threats.

A related question: will the Society of Leopold/Second Inquisition be around to replace the Shadow Inquisition in the Modern Nights start, or will Vigil's Conspiracies & Compacts be present instead?

Our first modern nights bookmark is set at 2015, after the events in Beckett's Jyhad Diary but before V5. So Second Inquisition should be a thing, but we have done absolutely nothing for it.

We are going to try and keep the Chronicles of Darkness material separate from Classical World of Darknes/V5. There is still a few pieces here and there.

One night, we might even bring back a Requiem bookmark, but right now, all attention is on Classical World of Darkness, and the Chronicles of Darkness bookmarks are broken and disabled.

He was getting some crashes and went back to steam verison.
I too, have been getting hella crashes with the github version. Mostly at game start, just before it would otherwise throw up the quick-start advice event. I can't figure out out anything useful about what's causing the crashes, they seem to occur at random without regard to whether I've flipped between bookmarks or rulers, or which ruler I pick, before hitting start. Sometimes clearing princesofdarknesscache in the CK2 folder seems to work, and other times it doesn't (so, its seeming to work could easily be explained by confirmation bias on my part.) Do you have any ideas what might be causing this, or would receiving logs from us help?

The version on my desktop seems alright, I'll see about getting it to github.

That said, flipping between different bookmarks before playing can cause CK2 problems. Best to know which bookmark you want to go to and only pick that one.

After any update (in steam or github), always clean out the princesofdarknesscache. If you haven't updated the mod, you shouldn't need to do it. However, clearing out the cache does cause dynamic flags to be redone according to the random number generator.

Take a look at the error log and see if there is anything interesting at its end.

The most common cause of crash is a graphical glitch. One issue that may have been a problem was some use of Chinese pdx_mesh map indicators. I've removed them in my copy and will upload to github soon.

I routinely have games run hundreds of years without a crash.

Heyya, I was mostly wondering whether you have any true brujah around or if it's all just brujah?

There are some True Brujah around. Some canon characters, some dynasties. Temporis doesn't have any special powers, just passive trait bonuses. Also, Tal'Mahe'Ra exists in the modern nights bookmark.

This is the last line in my error.log after crashing on game start:
Code:
[virtualfilesystem.cpp:711]: Could not open file: gfx/models/Shields/aztec_king_shield.xac, error: No such file or directory
I do NOT have Sunset Invasion, so it might be related for a failure to check for it before using its resources?

There are some other interesting entries in the error.log, things triggered by typos ("cutlure" and "metheselah") etc, but I assume those are popping up in your logs too.
There are some other errors related to expected title/holding structures and missing art, too. I can pastebin my full error.log if you'd like to have a look.

.
Yes, that is the problem. You need to have sunset invasion, but you don't need it to be on in the game rules.

Most major mods have found a way to work in the absence of any DLC, I hope that becomes the case for yours in the future, because of all the CKII DLCs Sunset most of all ain't on my shopping list.

I've done it quite a lot. I will move these map item icons to the units submod.

That one is free.

We are hoping to do a steam release by Halloween!
