I never noticed it being so doggone loud in 1.3.2.. I mean there was this quiet "click" as each day turned over, but now 1.4 OW OW OW! My ears! The audio cue is some moron tech whacking on a anvil with a 5 pound hammer.. bloody LOUD and annoying!

How do I mod that OUT of the game..

Look on GitHub sorted by recent updates, think I saw one yesterday that does this

@Pode ya there is one but it hasnt been released yet
seems as though it is being worked on
been keeping an eye on it

YAY.. glad I'm not the only one that found this annoying..

My wife made me put headphones on yesterday. The rest of the noise and music from the game didn't bother them but the turn passing "clank" for some reason could be heard clearly though the whole floor of the house. Even the cat was giving me dirty looks..

Hi all,

i finally updated my game yesterday and bought flashpoint, so far i was still playing with version 1.10...... I do not know who thought this clanking sound was a good idea, it annoys the hell out of me...It's not only on the day passing screen, it's also when the mission pre-load screen (to set your mech loadout) opens, but there it is once and I can live with it, but certainly not on that travel screen (maybe it's just a bug there, and they accidently switched the soundfiles)

But does anyone know if that soundfile is in the open so we can just remove/replace it ? The mod mentioned on GitHub is not released yet, or other question in this matter, was it happening in 1.3.2 too ? If not, i might even roll back to an older version.

Thanks for any info. :)

Hey all,

i found the responsible issue for this "bug".... Today I was reverting back to 1.3.2, but forgot to load my mods, and the sound when passing time was normal. Then I reinstalled my mods, and then the clanking-sound returned, but only about half as loud.... So it must be somehow mod related.

Believe it or not, at least in my case it is the simple "add year to timeline" mod found here :https://www.nexusmods.com/battletech/mods/195?tab=posts

The sound we hear is the original subtile ping sound that's always been there, but much much louder now. After removing the mod, the subtile silent sound returned.
Now, just don't ask me how this simple format mod is interferring with the volume setting from that particular soundfile. I know this is usually just a double/decimal inside the unity inspector window, but the mod itself seems to overwrite or multiply that value...

I give the author a note, though the mod is quite old, not sure if he will read that.

In that case we might try the newer Timeline mod instead, as I think it duplicates that functionality and is being expanded to support introducing Mechs as time passes.

i can confirm that the Timeline mod by mpstark does get rid of the CLANK
i dont think it is on nexus but you can find it on github just do a search for mpstark or even battletech

Well went and found this timeline mod.. I'm guessing it's still a bit of WIP. (i cant get it to work! Buggers! Ah well no biggie).. how ever getting rid of the old add years to timeline DID get rid of the noise for sure!

Considering how ambiguous the start date of the restoration campaign is, this is kinda fine anyway. Time line won't really be an issue I suspect until the DLC after urban warfare at which point we should be looking at the 4th war starting up (should be an expansion of the map and lots and lots of work with Liao and Davion.)

SO THANK YOU GUYS.. it was really driving me to distraction!
