Okay, after looking through the log... the only remaining advice that I can give is to do the 'Verify file integrity' for the game, AND erase the contents of the \Mods\.modtek\ folder.

Just the folders files and within \Mods\.modtek\, nothing from the \Mods\ folder itself.

If this doesn't fix things? I'd have to refer you to the BattleTech modding discord for a real-time chat session; specifically the #RogueTech channel.

Interestingly,

The newest patch just fixed me, with only a CFC and an install on a fresh game.

Things that make you go hmm!

Thanks again for all your help, gonna go dive in face first now!

I have a question about RogueTech - maybe someone can help out.

From trying it out and reading up on it, there seems to be a huge focus on melee. I like a lot of the changes that RogueTech offers, but really don't want a melee focussed mech game. Does it change throughout your mechforce getting better in RogueTech or are there settings I could change i.e. to change evasion ?

I wouldn't say there's a huge focus on melee. There is a massive improvement of melee yes, but there's a lot of new content in all areas.

I would say having a dedicated melee mech is more valuable than having a dedicated LRMboat though.

Early game, melee hit chance:damage ratios compared to ranged makes it a very useful option. Later on you can still happily kit out with a dozen SRM+++s and blow things away a la vanilla.

So I was trying to use RT with the vanilla campaign (with everything required in the install option) and it worked fine until I get my first priority mission, and that disappeared.....now I'm stuck and can't find the mission.....

Because you installed Wartech together with the Vanilla campaign, while the installer EXPLICIT IN UPPERCASE tells you that it's not compatible with the vanilla campaign.

(Nexusmods)

099 Stable-f4 for BT 1.2
0991 Public Preview Patch 4 for 1.2.1 public preview

i suggest the second, because of some important changes.

Got them.... another question, I am playing with the dZ CCC mod installed. I read in another thread that someone had both mods installed. He has 3 folders, one Mod generic, and one for each mod (RT in one folder) and (dZ CCC in another) and what he does is whenever he wants to play either mod, just changes the name of the respective mod folder to the generic one and continue on that campaign. And when he wants to play the other one, then just repeat the steps.

But the question is, when you click on the installer for RT, are you overwritting something that might be used by the other mod?

I dont think that works anymore with the latest RT, since RT use his own BTML. But you can try it. I just cant answer that question for sure.

Edit: Sure, you can make that work, but then it's more work than just renaming the MODS folder.

It is not a melee oriented game by far, but a player that knows how to make use of the melee parts, will be very competitive.
In fact melee was completely ignored until Roguetech in all the games in this universe. Even vanilla Battletech barely touches this aspect, like an afterthought.
Roguetech covers not only the basic concept of melee, but offers parts that will help players that want melee oriented mechs to make a good alternative.
Everything else has a lot of quirks, components, skills, why not melee.

A question or plea to the RT developers.
The escort mission allied vehicles getting stuck is beyond annoying. Still present in the game
Could it be done so we can manually target these vehicles and get rid of them.
There is a way around it, reloading over and over and simply blocking the hexes with one of our mechs, but the units will get stuck in other hexes so, you will need to restart many times after each new stuck hex you uncover.
In Rouguetech is especially nasty with the multi month campaigns where you cannot do anything, unless you break contract and leave the system, which is not a real option.
So, if it will be possible in a future fix to introduce the manual option to kill friendlies , it would be such a great save for many of the players that find themselves stuck.

PS: in search on this forum i haven't found a solution if there is one.
Thank you for your effort and wish you best of luck with this development.

PPS: i am still appaled by the fact that official game devs still try to do other things instead of implementing roguetech changes. They are logical and better mechanics than vanilla, skills as well are organized better here

I wanted to try out the Mod (even if i have some Concerns, but i apprechiate the Work).

So i uninstalled BT (earesd all Files in Folder too!) and made a new Installation.
I took the latest ZIP from nexus. Made the Loader, startet the Game...

everything workes fine. After the Loading screen it goes to Skirmish and Campagne.

The i choose the Campage and press Start.

After that it stays for ours (an overnighttest was 8 Hours!) in another "loading" Screen wit the moving circle above left, the Infos and Tipps are working too, but the rest is black and nothing goes on.... just the Text from the Tipps!

Why doesnt it start?

On escort missions the vehicles need line of sight to your mechs to keep moving. If you are not in line of sight they don't move. Took me some time to figure that out, but Darius does tell you that at the start of the mission, like anyone listens to that guy.

With LOS there are hexes where a particular vehicle will remain stuck.
And when I say LOS i say with a mech standing next to them.
I had 3 escort missions after 1.2 update and all 3 were bugged, but reloaded them several times to move a mech and block the trap hex, and it worked.
Takes forever and if by any chance it is ironmad mode, you would be screwed.
This is how I found the solution to block all trap hexes and force vehicles to avoid that spot. This was before 1.2 and on a map, there were several hexes on which the vehicle would get stuck.
On some reloads, 3 vehicles would get stuck, on some just 1 or just 2.
I repeat, with 4 mechs standing near them, blocking some hexes
