Surprise! I felt a bit depressed lately so according to my custom I sped up progress on the mod so ....... the mod just landed on steam under the name Rise of Ashur in its infant version that will be kept up to date as long as there are intrested players. The proper DD will be released today or tomorrow when I will have more time.

Exactly as I said recently I felt a bit depressed so I decided to finish the mod at least to the point where the systems from the previous version would work and release "Beta". So surprise!

At the beginning, the attention is probably drawn to the fact that instead of taking over the territory during historical conflicts, it gives the player the territory he has conquered. This is because a new wargoal has been added for this occasion, which also allows for greater conquest to reflect the historical situation (+ script from SP). I also added a new wargoal for Assyria that will replace normal conquest if you control the place of worship of the god of war Ashur and having him in the pantheon. In addition, I added a colonization mechanic to the Bronze Age mod, which I will be working on.

As for historical curiosities, imagine my surprise when, adding the tribal states of upper Macedonian, I learned that many companions of Alexander the Great were closely related to their ruling dynasties (or their direct members), such a good example are the Antigonids of Elimeia, or the known to all Ptolemies. In this context, their rise to power and the matter of Alexander's death can be seen in different light. Because as they say "keep friends close, and enemies even closer", but they also say that "once a king will always be a king".
In addition, these tribes had strong ties to both Macedonia and the epirotes from the Molossian tribe. The latter made available to them, among others pastures, which could be the reason for a more diplomatic approach to Epirus by the Macedonian rulers, which facilitated control over the mountainous part of the country.
As I mentioned in the case of Macedon, for a long time they were not considered by the Greeks as a Hellenistic people, in contrast to, for example, the Epirots. This had multiple consequences, e.g. in the form of snickers such as that only those who cannot rule themselves have the king (a reference to the absolute monarchy ruling in Macedonia), or the inability, for example, to participate in the Olympics (which was celebrated, for example, by adding a southern Greek pedigree). The Macedonians, however, were undoubtedly Greeks, and more specifically Dorians who came from the south.

As for the situation in the Peloponnese, Sparta was not so militaristic then. She even managed to produce a few poets. A generation earlier, the Spartans managed to take over the area of the mountain Sciritians, who were given rights and incorporated into the army, hence the name of one of the Spartan units. Sciritians were nominally vassals of Tegea, which brought the two countries into conflict. There were still enclaves of the non-Indo-European Pelasgians in the form of the Minyan and the Kynur on the peninsula. The most powerful, however, was Argos, with lands all the way to Sicyon.

Screenshot 2022-07-01 22-03-19.png

It is also worth mentioning the Phoenician colonies in the Aegean Sea which brought back the light of civilization to Greece and, among others, alphabet.

Screenshot 2022-07-01 22-03-24.png

There was also the presence of Nuragic pirates who had colonies on smaller islands as well as in Crete, which is confirmed by the found structures of this people, such as in the vicinity of the city of Akka.

Finally, about the people of Lemnos who had a language from the same family as the Etruscans, no one really knows why. In addition, the myth about eneas may also have Etruscan origin (which is inferred from the sculptures of a young man carrying an old man), which adds spice to the matter. Is there something in the propaganda myth?
Finally, I would like to repeat that, according to the schedule, I will make a remake of the Iron Age mod and push the start date forward. Thank you all for your support and I hope to see you in the next DD.

Solid that the iron age gets some loving. I will follow this project and see where it goes. Several runs I'd like to try and also to learn more about this fascinating area and time period.

Good work. :)

Hello everyone to the latest slightly overdue DD. I know it's a bit late but I've had personal problems lately and only managed to release an update. Nonetheless, one of the first changes is the renaming of some historically important factions in Egypt. I additionally added the decision to move the capital to Tanis for the lybians and egyptians. You may know the name from Indiana Jones movies. Tanis became the capital after the end of the 20th dynasty. Many stones from the old capital Pi-ramesses were used in its construction due to financial problems and therefore problems with the dating of some buildings.

The second change is an event that affects the Libyan leader Osorkon the Elder at the beginning of the game. Historically, the civil war ended with an agreement between the Siamun and Osorkon faction sealed by the marriage of the former to Osorkon's daughter Katimala. It was caused by the usurper's loss of control over the situation in the country, which resulted in mass looting, which, according to my sources, lasted about 7 years. In the game, Osorkon will get a message with three options: either he will give the lands of the Nile delta conquered in the civil war with the capital to Siamun, or alternatively to his distant relative in Thebes, who was a high priest. He can also keep conquered territories, but then a rebellion will begin.

Influenced by user SallySue, I also added the ability to revive the old heretical religion of Egypt Atenism. Atenism is the first historically confirmed monotheistic religion (though there is a dispute over this with Zoroastrianism because it is not known when Zoroaster himself taught). Created by the pharaoh Amenhotep III, it initially allowed the worship of other deities, but later, the temples of the old gods were closed, and according to the order, only Aten could be worshiped. The deity itself was depicted in the form of a disk with hands as rays holding symbols of eternal life. A unique feature is also the natural depiction of the figure of the pharaoh with visible deformations. The religion still demands attention so there will be changes in time.
Screenshot 2022-07-13 14-28-48.png

The rest of the changes were purely cosmetic. Like the naming of rulers in Greece and Thrace or the correction of errors and slips here and there. I also changed spearmen in the Egyptian army to axemen as I announced. Among the planned changes are formable factions mainly for Greece, events for the Shoshenq I rise to power as well as the addition of Anatolia and a remaster of the original modification for a later date. I hope with your support we will succeed and we will see each other in the next DD's.

I love this mod and the idea behind it, but would you consider expanding the map a little? I always trying to create the Delian league with Athens, but the lack of byzantion kind of preventing that.

Today will be short because I was having a pretty rough time. I will tell you a bit about a project that was in DD from time to time. Namely, to make modification for the Imperator of the first era of Tamriel, and since I have been hallucinating recently and it seems that I see a strange-dressed old man with a cane, it's time to finish this project.

Screenshot 2022-07-31 21-51-17.png

For now, the project is at the mapping stage. For the sake of speed, it will be released in pieces, with the province of Sommerset and the Abecean Sea islands first.

Additionally, I updated other projects to the latest versions. For now, until I finish the Elder Scrolls: First Age demo, I won't be touching them. As always, check out Discord. I hope I'll be able to show more soon and remember.

It very much gladdens me to see someone work on a mod for elder scrolls! It has a very rich lore. I am a fan of the elder scrolls europa universalis mod but I do think Imperator is the kind of game that this setting will suit best, like representing the many cultures and minorities in game and the relationships between them. Like the Aetherium wars, human slaves under the Aelyds and the slave revolt of Saint Alessia, the rise of the empire of Skyrim and consequently the fall of the Snow Elves and their enslavement by their elven cousins the Dwemmer. So much Potential! When during the first age is the mod taking place?

Wow I abandoned the forum for far too long .The mod takes place in 113 of the first age during the Narfinsel schism (Ayleid Empire civil war) and the birth of the first historical High King of Skyrim (or his coronation thou there is also a later date for that but since I haven't found the records for this the regency period and civil war is a possibility). For now the Cyrodiil update takes longer than expected but with the good winds should be done soon. I'm more active in Discord but I will pay more attencion to foum from now on.
