If you've played enough games as a hive mind, you may have noticed one thing: they suck. They have the lowest pop growth of any empire type due to no robots, they have by far the worst issues with crime due to having only two hunter-seeker drone jobs on their level 2 capital and no crime lord deal, with no entertainers or administrators they struggle with amenities, they have the worst researchers in the game by far, and in general they're just bad. This mod aims to make them on par with the other empire types with as few changes and additions as possible. It does not add any new civics or mechanics to hives (there are other mods for that); it simply changes three things:
1. The level 1 hive capital now adds two more housing and amenities, from 8 to 10 each. This allows you to hold off on building more hive districts for a while longer, making hive colonies more immediately productive compared to other empire types.
2. The level 2 hive capital now adds 5 more amenities (from 15 to 20) , freeing up more pops to do things other than maintenance. It also adds 1 more hunter-seeker drone to reduce deviancy and 1 more spawning drone to further increase amenities and pop growth.
3. Brain Drones have had their upkeep changed from 6 minerals to 4 food (for organic hives) or 4 minerals (for lithoid hives). This change brings them into line with machine empire calculators (4 energy upkeep). Vanilla hives struggle with minerals more then any other empire because of their brain drones being so expensive (and hives are the only empire type without access to mining guilds/rockbreakers). 6 minerals is 1.5 times the base output of a miner, whereas 4 food is 2/3 the base output of a farmer. This makes hives much better at research, and gives them a niche different from other empires in that they needs lots of food late-game (whereas food quickly becomes useless for other empire types, or vanilla hives). It also makes hive worlds better and more unique (since in vanilla, the important basic resources are energy and minerals, both of which can be obtained in more or less unlimited quantities via habitats or megastructures, meaning hive world's advantage in food production is useless) and improves devouring swarms (since they actually need the ludicrous amounts of food they get now).

This modifies both hive world capital buildings and the brain-drone job, and is thus not compatible with any other mod that changes them. It will not break the game, but it will overwrite changes to these from other mods before it in the load order, or be overwritten by mods that change these later in the load order. Put this mod later in the load order if you want the changes it brings. Save-game compatible.
