SKY'S NECROMANCY MOD v0.12

Introduction

If CK2 has devil worshippers, why not necromancers aswell? I've always found necromancers interesting so I decided to make a mod about it. This isn't per se associated with any specific role, just kind of of the top of my head.

Features
  • Delve into the dark arts of necromancy.
  • If applicable, use the Necronomicon to help you out, potentially in exchange for your sanity.
  • Turn prisoners into obedient ghouls.
  • Gather prisoners and extract their souls in order to power your phylactery.
    • Different prisoners give more Phylactery Material.
    • Higher-tier rulers give more points.
    • Religious heads give more points.
    • Kin, the closer the better.
  • Once powered, the phylactery allows you to turn into a lich.
    • Chance of succeeding depends mainly on Phylactery material, try to get more than 13, can go as high as 99% chance of succeeding.
  • Becoming a lich creates a bloodline, making sure your heirs have an easier time becoming necromancers.

Known bugs
  • Requirement for becoming a necromancer says you need to NOT have the Necronomicon, the opposite is true.

Planned features
  • So far the AI can't do much with this, so make sure that the AI can actually delve into the dark arts.
  • Add more features to both necromancers and liches.
    • Creating abominations - undead constructs made out of multiple people
    • Reanimating characters - Would probably require some portrait overlay
    • More specific undead, like skeletons, revenants, banshees, ghosts etc. Suggestions welcome
    • Ability to heal wounds by sacrificing your minions
    • For liches - using special phylactery mechanics.
  • Add an extra path for characters owning the necronomicon.
    • Focusing on other spheres of necromancy, interacting with the other side, empowering yourself directly
  • Necromancy society(?)
    • Created by a lich with enough loyal courtiers/vassals willing to join.
    • Turn undead mission, create abomination mission, reanimate mission, help character become necromancer mission, collect phylactery material mission & becoming lich mission possibly.
  • Necromancy religion(?)

  • v0.12
    • Fixed some bugs regarding the ghoul trait
    • Added more factors for the AI and adjusted existing ones, while also adding more conditions for AI to even be able to try it, should prevent necromancy from spreading too much among AI, especially among unlanded characters.
    • Changed Unholy Blood of Lich-GetTitle to Undead Blood of Lich-GetTitle
  • v0.11
    • Removed +5 Catholic opinion from Lich blood
    • Added AI factors for the necromancy decision, and set them to 0 for the lich decision.
    • Added icon for lich decision
    • Can't get lich bloodline for event chain if you already own it.
  • v0.1
    • Released.

Oh yeah, undead Jesus, that's a fun way of looking at it.

I was actually thinking of perhaps having it give you +5 Taoist opinion, since immortality bloodline gives +5 Taoist, but this is another kind of immortality so I think it might not be appropriate.

The Necromany religion, if I do decide to add one would be an addition. You could still play other religions but would also be able to switch to the necromancy religion.
It's not on steam, though I guess I could upload it there too.

I would be a great fan of a Necromancy society, however the issue is that you need a minimal number of members for societies to be functional, at least if you use another existing society for inspiration (such as the hermetics).

It could be possible to make it a formable society similar to the hellenic ones. First you wait for a couple of necromancers to show up, then create a decision to form it once you've got the minimum amount of members needed.

ok i find a mistake here or maybe im mistaken but

ghoul = {
customizer = no
church_opinion = -10
random = no
combat_rating = 50
learning = -5
intrigue = -5
diplomacy = -5
stewardship = -5
immortal = yes
fertility = -50
opposites = {
necromancer
ghoul
}
same_opinion = 30
general_opinion = -20
}
i think u should change second ghoul to lich

Thank you very much! Will upload the fix along with some other stuff soon.

and maybe a new decision for people recently died to bring them back ?

The thing about that is that I'm pretty sure you can't actually bring back dead characters, since you can't target them with much, though I could prepare some characters to be brought back and then create a copy of that character on-death, which would function as a workaround. I will look into it either way, thanks for the suggesstion.
