I don't have any objections with what you've said, I am glad that somebody is considering making it right, I mean I dont like how Usora and Zachumlje are positioned right now in the original map. Even if you make for Bosnian duchy/banovina at least 4 provinces or counties I'll be very happy its better than nothing. I don't like the idea that you can't create Bosnian kingdom while playing.

It would be nice that if you want to create Bosnian kingdom you would have to conquer Hum or Hercegovina duchy, like that while you're playing the game it makes more harder to create Bosnian kingdom. But if you think othervise go ahead. Also we should add bosnian culture in the game.

Also could you please make sure that if you do create province Travunija or if you keep only Hum it should be above Ragusa (Dubrovnik) province. I mean Ragusa should be on the coast below Travunija or Hum province and Zeta province and not in between them. And if you are adding the province Lim it should be Polimlje which is more appropriate because Lim is the river and Polimlje is the region which still exists today.

And if you are creating provinces in dalmatia between Ragusa and Split it should be 'Krajina' which has towns such as Omis, Makarska and Imotski. But that is only if you are creating anything in between Ragusa and Split on dalmatian coast.

Moveing editing every province at least a little bit, so nothing will be in exactly in the same location(hopefully it will look better:p), hopeing my river editing will be acceptable(or mendable...)

Don't worry it will be de jure

Should be easy enough to make a creation/usurp protection. Bosnian culture will be included, if you could help me with a name list, I can add it to the next update after this one

That was good you said that about Travunjia because I was just about to make it like that(should it really be landlocked though?)

And if you are adding the province Lim it should be Polimlje which is more appropriate because Lim is the river and Polimlje is the region which still exists today.

The reason I wanted to add it, was something I found on Hum/Zahmulje's wiki page:

"Miroslav confiscated the Arcbishop's money.[22] Rainer complained to the Pope Alexander III, who sent Teobald to report on the matter.[22] The Pope's nuncio Teobald found Miroslav as a patron of heretics.[22] After this, the Pope wrote to king Béla III of Hungary who was overlord of Hum (which Miroslav did not recognize), telling him to see that Miroslav performed his duty, but Miroslav remained as Prince of Hum.[22] In 1190-1192, Stefan Nemanja briefly assigned the rule of Hum to his son Rastko Nemanjić, while Miroslav held the Lim region with Bijelo Polje.[23] Rastko however took monastic vows and Miroslav continued ruling Hum after 1192.[23]"

And if you are creating provinces in dalmatia between Ragusa and Split it should be 'Krajina' which has towns such as Omis, Makarska and Imotski. But that is only if you are creating anything in between Ragusa and Split on dalmatian coast.
I think I will have to wait and see how many provinces Croatia will have to get, before we go there.

Thats it... about naming we can go like this

Bosnia: Vrhbosna, Usora, Zavrjse and Donji Kraji

I think it would be best.

Keep up the good work.

About names, we should really look into names of known bogumilist like Dragiša, Ljubin, Dragoš, Pribiša, Ljuben, Radoš, Vladoš, Rastudije, Dražilo, Tvrdoš, Stojšan, Radmil, Đuro and so on. We can help you with that, also with surnames as well. Also, add other south slavic names, because they were all used, like Tvrtko, Stjepan, Vuk...

Will use them then.

Better wait to say that until you have an acceptable Bosnia in CK2:p, my first edit will almost certainly require tweaking

Seems like you already got names enough for half a list there, would be very gratefull if you two would research it(names and the like is not really optimal to make if one has no relations with a culture/country) and there is no rush, this update will not be finished before at least 10 days

I have gotten to the stage where I need a set of coat of arms for the provinces, searching on them yields some, but it seems(I can't read Bosnian or Serbian..) to be mainly the dynasites/noble family's coat of arms(and Im guessing that you would prefer if those were reserved for the actual families). Do you have an idea of how I could get hold of some coat of arms? If not of the provinces then of the main city inside each of them.

Oh, Coat of arms could be the problem as of online availability. Maybe El-fatih could have some... I will look into it.

A third way, if it turns out that those isn't avalible, is to make some out of coinage/related art from the period/ other related objects from the period. An example could be to use Ban Kulins plate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ban_Kulin as one of the coat of arms

I can get you some coat of arms, but that is from some maps or books, and we could then do them ourselves if we can. As for the names, there is no problem, I have alot of names like Stipan, Stjepan, Radin, Vukac, Sibislav, Ninoslav, Matej, Sanko, etc.. About the female names I will have to research, but there are some names like Katarina, Jelisaveta, Kujava, Jelena, etc..

Check the previous page where i gave you the link to the bosnian medieval map, there are some coat of arms of the famous bosnian noble families like Kotromanic, Kosaca, Dinjicic, Babonic, etc..

And could you tell me when this map will be finished with the balkan provinces, when will it be playable?

I can add them, but as I wrote earlier it will mean that they won't be reserved for use as the actual families in game. You might be able to persuade Arko(he was kind enough to add the correct COA to two of the big danish noble families) to add one or two of the families coat of arms to the dynasties after the dynasties have been made(will try my own hand in makeing some dynasties coat of arms after the map have been sorted out(its seems quite complicated compared to makeing province COA...).

Hopefully I will have the Balkans and Hungary sorted out during the next 3-4 days, then I have to finish Poland and that will take around 2 days, then I have to redraw half the provinces in the HRE and that will probably take 2 days aswell(the corrected river map means I will have to correct what I have already done in that area, but at least I don't have to research anything), when all that has been done I have to add positions for every province thats been changed and I would guess that it will take 2-3 days(3-4 positions per province and 2-300 provinces means I will have to redo around a 1000:sad:).
Best guess is 10 day in total.

If kindly asked only !! :p
Making the coa in itself isn't more complicated, but implementation is a bit trickier indeed, but nothing that hard compared to event scripting f.e..

That brings us back to me soon begging for a few more danish COA when I discover I can't figure out how to add them:p

you know where to ask for sure. ;p

I will:p, hopefully I can learn how to make some, so that I can be of some more use, if you decide to expand the COA pack to other areas.

Speaking of learning I have redone almost all of the rivers in the Balkans, Hungary and Poland but I still can't work out how to make lakes(that actually apear in game...). I can see that you made some lakes near Kiev in Mercator how did you pull it off?

-on COA there is a tuto on the forum IIRC. I made a partial one but in French.

-lakes : you need to tweak topology.bmp. lakes appear only until a max height it seems, so you need to lower terrain. The color to use in rivers.bmp, is the same color than seas.

Having just tried to decipher Bosnian, I feel I might be able to brush of my French skills(close to non exsistent but I can read a bit), will give it a go.

Thanks!! it was the topogoly.bmp that I couldn't figure out. Hungary in particular seems to miss a lake...

I think you speak about it (missed this post)

In such cases I use historical capital/main city coa, or I take the coolest Coa I can find in the area !

Sorry should have been more clear. The thing with those capitols of the Bosnian/Serbian provinces, is that many of them don't seem to exsist anymore(makeing it a bit difficult), and the only cool coat of arms is those of the ruling nobles, and I don't know wether our two Bosnian correspodents want to reserve them for the families.. Will probably just make some(cool ones:p)out of historic Bosnian stuff I have found.

ok. it should be a bit more difficult to find than for France where most of the 36000 cities/villages have one !
