HELLO!
I changed my mind about doing a Napoleon mod, and decided to do a 7 Years War, circa 1750 mod instead. So this thread is now dead and you can find its replacement here:

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/mod-destiny-of-empires-circa-1750.1030210/

SO, some say it cannot be done. This, sounds like a challenge.
I will be using the new e3-FN map, already half done.
I will be creating a game from nothing but an idea and an itch.
I will create the world of circa 1800 and hopefully you will march your armies across Europe and beyond, and enjoy a little historical interlude.

Release, possibly in January 2018, if God spares us all and me especially.

Want to help, please do. Post here your whatevers.

In the meantime, I clear my desk and start to dream of circa 1800 and Louis and Napoleon, and Wellington, and the many battles of Princes and Kings.

You say it cannot be done?
Come back in a while when I have progressed a little more than a few words. From words, worlds are created...

I found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years'_War

So finally the mod starts on January 1, 1750, gives the player 4 years to settle down, have a first global war, settle down and then have Napoleon arrive in France to upset the applecart again.

Glad that is settled. Cheers

For the person who doubts that I have some of this prepared already, from years ago.

I've got some tech pictures I could let you use - they were meant for the mod headed by @ImperialEagle, but they've gone unused so far.

And don't worry, I've got other stuff than artillery as well, these were just the ones that were both period accurate and didn't need me to convert them from .bmp to .png, as Paradox does not support the former. (I'm in a bit of a hurry at the moment)

um... ok, another mod based circa 1800. (I really don't know how I am supposed to feel about this, conflicted because of the failure of Darkest Hour Ultimate or eager to help because I have done some minister pics already) with research about 1800's politics? (specifically in America)

Thank You. All stored away safely as I get myself organised. Cheers

Any help is very welcome, 1800s American politics, sounds good to me!

I'm looking at unit types, chasseurs, line infantry etc etc. Hmmm

yea, I guess I will have to slowly send ministers your way then. I mean early America was pretty complex and involved many faces, a small temporary republic, a secessionist movement, a Central Bank debate, and a purchase (along with conspiracies involving said purchase)

Well hopefully, we do get more TAGS so we can flesh out the Colonies in the Americas, with skirmishers, irregulars, injuns etc etc, n maybe some explorers, prospectors, revolutionaries too.

you mean like Canada, and the various Latin American countries? We have enough as it already is to include all of the colonies of the various European Powers. I mean sure the Republic of West Florida was an ephemeral state but it existed.

The plan will have to be generic at first, detail for later on, as too much to do otherwise.
Will have to think hard about doing states or statelets in new ways if no TAGS turn up? Maybe a TAG unit, sitting in a province denotes the land is in an unsettled political state?
I dunno, ...

I mean like REBELS but not as rebels attack, while you want this unit to just sit there.

The land could possibly not be cores until the region becomes an official state (if you are talking about the United States), or Provinces (in Canada), I don't really know what to do with New Spain/Mexico and Latin America though.

I don't think there were any revolutions in South America until much later? So it will be just like most of Africa, incognita?

This mod won't be the usual dh fare. I did stuff years ago for another mod (vicky 2) and I can use it here in this mod.
So basically dh will be the container for something new, just need to think it all up first.
Confident though.

well, from my knowledge Patagonia was the only region of Latin America that was "terra incognita" during this time period because most of the Northern South America was divided between the various Spanish Viceroyalties, the small Dutch and French Guiana, and Portuguese Brazil.

Nice image, thanks.
I expect they will be confined to coastal towns and areas, some river valleys etc. But I expect the territory will be something like "stretch from the coast to a river" but not occupied. So IC will be more concentrated in specific provinces, not spread out, or lessened so Spain is not like the USA is today. I mean rich but not silly rich and throwing money away...

Will be nice to explore a Spanish Empire in the Americas, the Birth of America, a French Empire, British Empire and a Dutch trading empire. To achieve this, will need to be an event-based mod rather than a build-tech, build army game as in dh. Need to change the culture of the game totally?

it makes sense, combine the IC being concentrated in and along river valleys with the Colonial System of Viceroyalties not dissimilar to the British Empire and its dominions in 1914 would make it a great mod.

ok, got the early Bonaparte's ready (basically guess I will be doing @Quinto Fabio Massimo's job in this mod and provide minister pics)

I was already doing that.

Yes Tera's given me French ministers and royalists, a quasi war pack and a general ministers pack of various countries so far.
I've discovered I have 1368 generals from various states from some mod I looked at, probably a vicky 1 mod? EVM??

I suggest you go looking at old vicky1, march of eagles etc and see what you can borrow there? March of Eagles is helping me already with various things.
